    oil change...

what kind of precision are you talking here? a chrome lined barrel isnt gonna make a 1moa gun into a 3moa gun...the difference is negligible unless you are bench shooting in a competition using hand loads to squeeze out every last bit of accuracy...YMMV

The question is what does WC source to use as their oil? They ain't makin it in Arkansas, and they're probably rebottling somethign you can get for $5 a gallon if you knew what it was. If it works, it works though!

I like chrome because I'm lazy in my cleaning. I haven't put a rod down my AR bores in about forever. I might have copper issues at some point but I won't have to worry about rust or pitting nearly as much as with a chrome moly barrel.

Any of you guys spray paint magpul stuff? I have od green parts and think it looks "toyish." I took my RVG off and spray painted it flat black; hope it holds up well and if it does ill paint most of the OD stuff black.

Don't feel like trying to order everything in black again.

Actually, chrome lined barrels are why rack grade ARs are considered 3moa rifles.

i just use hoppes gun oil and breakfree CLP, ...i've never had any issues, ...keep in mind most lubricants you put on the bolt/carrier will tend to splatter out through the ejection port... i lubricate the bolt/carrier "generously", ...mainly because that's what i've heard is good practice from the hive... ;)

I lube the BCG sparingly (5 drops), only because I have found excessive CLP will burn off and hinder vision, especially during competition. This is found true with the M249 as well. To each his own!

Most bolt carriers are chrome lined. Makes cleanup easier.

Btw you don't need to clean stainless barrel bores all the time either. Many precision shooters will argue that it smooths out the bore by not cleaning it all the time and over cleaning is what causes the "cold bore" flyer. Yes a chrome lining can make a barrel a 3 MOA barrel. And I'm talking CQB type stuff but if I have to slow down and take a shot on someone whose behind barricade precision ability comes into play. Especially when not a lot of the body is exposed.

lol I would agree with that. Ive seen some piss poor rifles come through our vault. Im pretty sure a lot of them have been vietnam era rifles too  seriously though.

Ive also seen shooters who would be considered 20moa or more...cant even qualify on the first or second try...they end up getting a waiver from their commander to deploy anyways even though they cant hit the fucking backstop... :tumbleweed: I wouldnt want them as my wingman:eek:

Im taking friday off for my birthday and its suppose to be 60 degrees so I plan on getting to the range. Ill try and get some action pics for this thread

    I picked this up yesterday.

    Bushmaster XM15-E2S

It needs a good cleaning but appears to have very few rounds through it. The seller claimed only 60rounds, but I have a feeling it's a bit more than that. I also got 150 rounds of steel 223 with it. Now to find some more ammo and see what this thing can do.

My chrome lined AR's shoot better than I do. I do not benchrest, and I am not shooting more than 200 yds so 3 MOA guns work for me. They kill hogs DEAD.

I did pay a premium, but didn't get raped too badly. I paid $1750 for the package.
