AR-15 BS Thread

Anyone want a brand new Leupold Mark 4 bad ass optic FOR FREE??? Buy my truck and I'll throw it in... well, I'll gently place it on the seat! Who's in?

 

If I buy the optic do I get the truck?



The trigger and hammer pins were a witch to install, and after watching cmmg's video on the websit I installed the something spring wrong and I put the hammer spring under the pin not over( but it worked fine when I tested it)

 

those little springs and shit piss the hell out of me

 

I tried for 30 minutes just getting the friggen trigger spring in, I have to say that was probably the hardest thing, the front pivot pin is a pain to keep the detent in while trying to install it so I ended up using my one detent on the rear pin so I can keep my upper on my lower

 

haha... sure! the optic is $30k! and I'll throw in some 5.56 rounds too! you want ball or hallow points haha... shoot, I'll throw in my glock 26 and a couple hundred rounds of 9mm ammo! lets have some fun!

 

That's fine. Depends on the load but a 50 yd zero should let you hold on a coyote out to 200. You'll be a little high at 100 and back at zero somewhere around 200. AR zeros have been beat to death on ar15.com and other sites.

 

Looks nice. Getting away from the "Evil Black Rifle" look. Love the burled stock and the finish of the receiver. Would never be able to swallow the price tag, and I bet it is quite a bit heavier than a standard AR.

What kind of engineer are you? I am a civil. Geotech/Structural.

FWIW ... called S&W to check on some 30 round magazines that I ordered last December, 2012.

Had to call them and change the credit card number ... and I also asked about a (ha ha ha) "delivery date" ...

S&W CSR said ... "we are quoting 12 weeks" ... were his exact words with no elaboration ...

PS ... I got my order (for S&W 5.56 - 30 rd. mags) in last December, 2012 ... before S&W stopped taking orders.

Holy smokes today I made my weekly trip to the gun shop and picked up 3 more mags (2) 7.62 and (1) 556

 

I couldn't ever pay for it either....but it is pretty

I'm in school at Virginia-tech for material science engineering, which could change if I decide to switch majors

 

has anyone made a pivot pin detent?
i read somewhere that if you go to a hobby store, and get a brass rod the same diameter of the detent, you can make your own by filing down one end and cutting it to a certain OAL.

 

I used my god given tools or my evolution given tools lol... regardless, I got pretty good without using a specific tool.

i was able to make a detent with a screw, dremel, and grinder

 

Yeah I didn't buy any, just letting everyone know. I stopped by my local Walmart this morning and they had 5.56 but I could only get 3 boxes. They said they usually get a shipment every night. Looks like I'll be stopping at Walmart everyday before work.
