You'll get arguments both ways. The DPMS manual says that you're supposed to shoot 20 rounds, cleaning between each shot, and then groups of 10 rounds, again cleaning after each group. You're supposed to do that all the way up to 200 rounds.

The David Tubb system uses special bullets with a very fine abrasive to do the same thing.

    http://www.davidtubb.com/davidtubb/content/graphics/pdfs/barrel_break-in_new.pdf

I figure I'll go the David Tubb route as I've already dump trucked a ton of money into this rifle.

There are some that say, just go shoot it and you'll be fine.

If it is cerakote you technically don't. It is a judgement call on you. I don't and have about 800 rounds threw my AR with no visual wear to the coating.

Frog lube and cerakote don't mix. Frog lube penetrates the coating and it will eventually discolor your firearm

Edit: it will take years for this to happen.

my local sporting goods store had PSA LPKs with magpul grips in stock for $89.99. Granted, they sold out the whole batch in 3 days. You just have to keep your eyes peeled.

The best way to get your lower parts is to buy a Ergo spring kit for $6, then find everything else separately on various websites.

yup i did. it didnt see anything about LPKs and they have them on their site. i just assumed they would be about 2 weeks behind like everyone else.

Also i am in really no rush. This ones for my 6.8 build. Still waiting to find a bolt and barrel.
