DSCN1230.jpgive got a smith and wesson m$p15.got it from a dealer who was goin out a buisiness a couple years back. paid 900cash for it. couldnt let that deal get away. mine is flat top carbine with 16",chrome lined,5.56nato,1in9'twist barrel.the chrome lined barrel is more durable than standard barrels,so thats a plus.ive put thousands of round through this thing and have never had any problems.the issue with shooting lots of rounds is lots of powder residue,so ive kept up on keeping it clean.these things arent like your deer guns that you might shoot 400 rounds out of it in a lifetime,so maintinace is crucial. I love my M&P.ive shot some other brands like bushmaster, stag arms, armalite and sig, they all are a pleasure to shoot. but i cant coment on durability.its all about how much you want to spend because the sky is the limit.

I ran across a bunch of AR's this week at a gun store in Memphis. They had a RRA 6.8 SPC that I would loved to have picked up, but I just could not justify the inflated price of $1699.
