What rev said. The difference between .223 and 5.56 is inner dimensions not out dimensions. The case wall is thicker in 5.56 so the pressure of an exact load in a 5.56 and 223 will have a higher pressure in the 5.56. Other differences that won't affect the chamber is 5.56 usually has crimped primers and harder primer cups to decrease chance of slam fire due to the floating firing pin.

Reloaders keep your head stamps sorted correctly and use proper reloading techniques and you're fine.

As for that rifle it can be any number of things that caused it. It may not even be a stag upper just because the lower is marked stag. How many of you guys buy random lowers to mount uppers on? A squib is very feasible since everyone is scrounging ammo wherever they can. Also there a million crappy BCGs out there people are jumping all over for $65-80 complete. All of the pressure of the rifle is contained in the locked up bolt, BCG and barrel extension. The upper receiver is not containing the pressure it's soft aluminum that can't contain 55k psi of pressure. So a crappy aftermarket carrier or bolt could have done this. After the scare started slowing down I had plenty of no name companies that aren't around trying to sell me this crap to sell. I refused and chose to stick with well known products.

The problem I always found was 2 fold, most buy mil spec LPKS and threw away the grip and then upgraded the trigger down the road. So I started selling a mil spec LPK without a fire control group or grip so you could choose you own.

Then I decided to make another one addressing what I felt a mil spec LPK lacks. A good ambi safety and trigger so I added the ALG QMS trigger and Battle Arms Development ambi safety.

What I always found that set the LPKs apart was gritty crappy triggers. Otherwise a lot of the small parts are all made a handful of companies and then sourced.

I like PSA kits until recently, not 100% on their new kits, now I'm using Stag USGI kits.

Buy from Brett for the best cost. Throw a ALG trigger in there and you'll be good.

Ive never used one personally but Ive heard that the LMT LPK is suppose to be top notch.

Ive always had luck with PSA and Ive used a dpms with nothing bad to report.

My current two lowers use PSA and one has an upgraded trigger

I used DPMS, and the trigger pin set rocked out and eventually the take down pin started falling out.

I used a PSA LPK minus their stock fire control group. I installed a Geissele SSA-E instead.

Sweet thanks guys. Having trouble finding the enhanced Spikes lpk in stock. I have heard good things about the RRA 2 stage trigger kit as well. The Stag lpk also seems to be in stock without bad reviews.

Maybe I am just dumb, but I love a PSA LPK, the trigger has a good break and a solid reset. I also have a spikes LPK that works well. I like the PSA over the spikes due to the fact it was 30.00 cheaper.

Alright guys, I'm starting to get those bad feelings about spending more money on firearms, lol. I just read a review on a Del-Ton evolution AR15.Needless to say it was a great review. Now I want one.
Any here have a Del-Ton , or any experience with one?
    Thanks

Started out as a Del-Ton upper. Chrome lined barrel, 1:7 twist. I shaved the A2 gas block because I like the security of a pinned block. Free-floated it and it's an honest minute-of-angle gun with heavier bullets. Del-Ton makes (sources) a range of stuff, everything from DPMS-grade up to mil-spec FNH barrels. Make sure you know what you're getting if you buy a complete rifle.

Quality LPKs are pretty easy to come by now. Brett, makes a good point when it comes to certain people don't want a run of the mill LPK and adds upgrades. PSA, LMT, Spikes, RRA, and CMMG make quality LPK without breaking the bank. For triggers most like the drop in assemblies. I did the 15 minute trigger job + hammer polish; I'm now sitting at a 4.6lb from a 8.1lb PSA trigger.

The cool thing about PSA, and I have no idea if other companies do the same, but PSA has lots of different ones to choose from so you can get one with an upgraded grip or fire control group etc etc

    http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/ar-15-05/lower-parts/parts-kits.html

I have a DPMS (from before PSA making their own), a PSA and then what I imagine is PSA considering they are local in a rebuilt Colt M16...They all feel about the same to me with no complaints across the board

The DPMS is in a Stag lower with BCM upper, the PSA is in a PSA lower and then of course the Colt
