FWIW, I actually own very few guns. I have a safe full of guns for T&E, articles I'm working on, product development, etc. but I have a limited number of personally owned guns. If I had to choose between another gun and a class, I'd choose the class.

I used to get guys out to our practice sessions all the time that shot a different gun every month but then told me they "can't afford to go to one-a them fancy classes".

I am thinking about getting with these guys during the summer and see what they have to offer. I want to take the carbine and kalish basic course.

I need to contact them I talked to Joe @ Dallas Market Hall gun show a couple of months ago and they were looking for a new place to train. He seems like a pretty competent dude.

True, I am thinking about starting the Tactical Response high risk program. I like their offerings, as I am very familiar with that style training. I am trying to get my neighbor to do a class who is completely new to ARs but he won't do it. I am thinking about telling him no more shooting with me without taking a class. He needs to learn the basics in a bad way. He is a credit card commando. I may just take the class and drag him with me. Only problem is that he is a pain in the ass. I need to start doing competitions too just to get my mechanics back in order. I am rusty when it comes to actually running an AR.

    Do your research.

There are several trainers in the industry that come with a lot of baggage, and others that don't. Without getting into a judgement call as to whether or not the stories and baggage are deserved, I prefer to steer clear of those with said baggage. Nobody has the secret sauce, and if they tell you they do they are one more to be avoided, and I see no reason to involve myself with those for whom drama seems to follow along and who appear to revel in it.

In the age of the internet nobody should have to say "gee, I didn't know about that" when it comes to researching a person's past.

I learned long ago not to bother "dragging" my personal friends to formal training classes. Their level of dedication is low. They like to shoot but don't wish to learn how to do it correctly or they don't want to spend the money on it. Which is retarded when I see them buy a new gimmicky thing they don't need.
