This^^ and keep the mags out of your reach if you are in the car. I had an LEO tell me to store everything far apart, so it doesnt look like I can grab a mag and load while I'm driving.....damned gangsters ruined it for us here in CA.

your fine with transporting the AR15 in a locked container, it not required since at the minimum all you need is a trigger lock or a cable lock through the breach.

So far from the truth it disgusts me. Search youtube for weapons check in santa ana ca by santa ana pd.

Ammo must be stored out of reach, separate from the weapon (glovebox, trunk, bed of truck) and magazines CAN NOT be loaded.

I would venture to guess that it is a Daniel Defense M4A1 FSP RIS II:

    https://danieldefense.com/rail-systems/m4a1-fsp-rail-interface-system-ii-ris-ii.html

Please note the four holes on the top side - forward of the gas block / sight. That is a major indicator of the Daniel Defense M4A1 FSP RIS II.

Just, FYI...DD makes great rails - I run DD MK18 rails on all of my MK18s.

    Hope that helps.

    - Mark

Long guns do not need to be locked in California during transport. Only if you pass through a school zone. They must be unloaded.

Unless your magazine can be removed with a button and have a 30 round magazine it's not a registered assault weapon

Nonconcealable firearms (rifles and shotguns) are not generally covered within the provisions of California Penal Code section 12025 and therefore are not required to be transported in a locked container. However, as with any firearm, nonconcealable firearms must be unloaded while they are being transported. A rifle or shotgun that is defined as an assault weapon pursuant to Penal Code 12276 or 12276.1 must be transported in accordance with Penal Code section 12026.1.
