I'll take a look at those for next time, thanks!

Yeah, and nothing worse than thinking you're finished but still have parts left over

What I still don't quite understand is, even without the disconnect spring, everything still functioned. Safety worked, trigger worked (trigger was actually softer). Still researching what actually happened, good info on other forums about it.

IIRC, disconnect should keep your AR in single shot mode. If you forget to put it in, you might end up with uncontrollable fire since it doesnt keep the trigger locked back after each shot.

That's pretty much what I'm finding. There seems to be some debate as to whether or not it could create an unsafe condition also. Something about the hammer following the bolt and creating a light primer strike. Oh well, definitely want it done right so everything is installed as it should be.

Just got my new timney trigger installed. It is awesome, much better than my PSA trigger group, I got the single stage 4 lb trigger (may be 4.5), it is awesome!

Too expensive haha. I'm gonna get a CMC flat trigger when I have the money 3.5# break and $120

Timney is hella nice though, just wouldn't use it in a SHTF gun since it's a comp trigger.

A better trigger is the #1 modification I recommend to friends when they want to build an AR. I use the Geissele SSA on all my builds, but the Timney, CMC, etc are all great options.

I almost got the geissele flat trigger over the timney but the price was a little more than I had

I used the parts sheet thingy to make sure i had all the right parts, watched a youtube video, then face timed with my cousin while i did it so he had a better idea when he helped his brother build his.

what yard-age do you all have your AR's sighted in at? mine is currently sighted at 100yds, but i'm contemplating re-sighting it at 50yds. that way i can aim slightly low at shorter distances, and aim slightly higher for longer range.

this is with a sightmark ultrashot holographic sight

Mine are at 50/200 (same bullet trajectory), and you'll be aiming low for 100 because of the trajectory path, bullet rises after 50, then drops somewhere past around 125. As shown in the green path below. 50 is a combat sight in because of the range it covers. :)

i actually never knew that, good to know info.

so if i sight in @50yds, the bullet will impact where my dot is at 50 and 200 yds, but slightly high at 100?

just making sure i understand this properly lol

I found this trajectory chart for the 5.45x39 on the internet:
    0190copy_3e5bb488f43e534b1f69fcdd11dd3832189bf595.jpg

I plotted it and graphed the 100m to 500m range:

Ran regressions on each of the zeros, and determined that if I zero in at 300 meters, I will also zero in at 15 meters, and my max rise will be less than 20cm or 7.8 inches.
