I'm pre-ban mag whoring, date coded and everything. Perfectly legal here, Mike.

I hear ya, I have a few pre-ban mags myself. Some people are still selling them ridiculously high but every once in a while I can find one or two that are reasonably priced and I'll grab them.

Haha I'll never understand why pre ban standard magazines are legal and new ones aren't. It's all the same.

Honestly, when I'm out I rarely put more than 5-10 rounds in a mag as it is. I picked up a few 10rd Pmags just for this reason. After about 5 or 6 rounds most people tend to get lazy and let their mechanics and form fall apart anyway, plus its way too tempting to pull a 30 round 5 second mag dump into a target 15' away haha.

I'm with you on that one. Seems completely f-in stupid. Somehow old 30 rnd magazines are different or safer than the new ones :jerkoff:
Still waiting on my 'ghost gun' lower that Aero made. I guess their down to 22 left on the shelf so I'm not sure where my order is or if I was signed up in time. :(

To be perfectly honest, the absolute last thing I'm going to check is the date code on someone's mag, or even the round count. As long as someone is licensed and the weapon isn't being used against someone, that's good enough for me. I couldn't care less if the rig has a collapsible stock, a bayonet lug or a flash hider. The governor can eat my shaven ass hairs.

I'm with you man. I'm not about to violate the constitution and what I believe in to satisfy a limit on the second amendment.

There's an obvious reason for this, but I won't discuss it here because we're not supposed to discuss legislation for some reason. If the answer isn't obvious, feel free to pm me.

i think it has to do with the unconstitutional nature of legislating a retroactive ban. Im not sure though.

Pretty much what I am…just no uniform. We still work with and for the military, we just wear different clothes now. Only one guy in our shop is non prior mil.
We still deal with T.O's, checklists, inspections, exercises, and QAs.

I figured he was thinking along those lines since he's from NY.

as for pre ban mags, Ive got a few in the garage Id sell if someone wanted them. They don't mean anything to me since Im in TX and I can have 100 round mags if i wanted :D

None of that matters if the magazine is not detachable according to the SA

No but the funny part is, you can take an SKS "fixed" magazine out in less than 60 seconds. Then you pop in your detachable one.

So if that's the case my gun is legal because my magazine is fixed with a mag catch, tee nut and JB weld. So you can have fun grinding and drilling, but the guy with the SKS is going to remove his factory mag and pop in his detachable one well before you are done.
