    Hahaha. Barrel.

I don't like the way thin barrels look honestly.
Why shouldn't I get a bull bar? Besides weight of course..

I personally don't think anything is wrong with it. I think if I was shooting from a bipod only.....I would probably get a bull barrel as well.
But other than that.....too much weight.
If you're doing shooting other than on a bipod.....maybe an HBAR would be a good medium.

Too heavy, the bull barrel may be slightly more accurate, but most guns are more accurate than me, no matter what profile the barrel is.
If you are going to be carrying it for any length of time, you will know why people go for lighter guns, however if all you do is shoot from a bench then any rifle will do. Get a .308 if all you will do is bench fire and ring bells out to 1000yds.

get this, no light profile barrel grooves and a solid setup.

seems like PSA's site is fucked up right now. there is nothing on it! haha

they usually offer a 16" stainless steel upper that you would probably like.

    also look here.

Go to Palmetto State Armory, look around there. Also, Bravo Company USA sells uppers and lowers, or complete AR's. Also, look at Colt and Daniel Defense.

Colt LE6920 ( discontinued but you can still find them out there) or the new SP6920 which is the same thing, just made my colt mfg instead of colt defense.

first things to go will be the flash hider, that POS hand rail, and pistol grip

Yeah, good advice on Model 1....

    There's no bull bar.
There's HBAR and Bull Barrel in the AR world.
HBAR is pretty heavy and Bull is even heavier.
    Here's a few links...

Varmint oriented....call if you don't see it.

Anyone have experience with Del-Ton? Their stuff seems to be mid-tier; MPI-tested bolt, chrome lined barrel...I think I'm gonna build up a lightweight gun with some Magpul furniture and a geissele trigger and run irons. I thought it'd be a good truck gun for trips to the in-laws (my only current AR is an SBR and I can't cross state lines with it without a special ATF form).

It's not pro-grade....consumer or commercial grade you could call it.
Plinker - OK..............Patrol Rifle - Not so much

It will go bang but it won't re-sell like other brands that are about the same price and pro-grade.

Yea that's the one. I'm glad you found it. I'm in the process of installing free float tubes on both my AR's.

Meh. I'd pass on del ton. For the money you spend on that you could get PSA or save a few more pennies (benjamins) and get a colt. They are less than 1,000 now...like 945
