Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
seems like they added this more recently than my order...

IMPORTANT: If ordering a lower receiver or firearm, please make sure to read these instructions before placing your order.

Dad gave me $800 budget to build him an AR. Im going to use one of my spare stripped lowers so disregard that portion of the cost. Also not including optic. I was thinking mainly:
    - Giselle or CMC trigger?
    - Stainless or Cold Hammer Forged Barrel?
    - Lantac Dragon Muzzle Brake for sure
    - nickle boron BCG?
    - Full length free float handguard: keymod or quad rail?

He will only shoot it when he comes to visit me, and he's not a tactical operator or hunter. He just wants a quality AR that will last and shoot well. Help me decide!

does PSA ever have a CHF upper sale without an A2 front sight post? Their CHF uppers are a great deal but if I have to replace the front sight post and handguard I might as well build one myself.

In that instance it really doesn't matter. Any quality barrel will do. Very few people, in very few situations, will notice a difference. People underestimate how accurate a good CHF barrel can be. As for gas blocks, there is nothing wrong with cutting down an A2 sight to a low pro. It can be argued that its better due to the pinning vs set screws.

If its in the budget don't overlook the hyperfire triggers. Faster lock time than anything else currently on the market.

The best bang for the buck in brakes is the DPMS. REALLY good performance for $30. I personally run an SJC Titan

The mtac, xtr, and Tac30 are all good. The true 1x on the low end is important for quick close range shooting. I have the MTAC and have shot several Tac 30s and XTRs. My next build will have an XTR more than likely.

My competition rifle has a Swaro Z6i BRT. Great scope if you're willing to drop the coin. They've been out for a few years and there are now several other players in that price range but I don't think anything else has reached its performance to weight ratio.
