^^^100%^^^Blackhawk makes a good heavy duty nylon 2 point or the standard issue black nylon slings can be had for about $5 at a gun show. Rifle hangs across the chest if you have QD swivels.

She said she shot M16s back in basic over 20 years ago lol but she said it's been over a decade since she was behind a gun. After i got it sighted in she had super decent grouping

Going to run fixed irons for a while, while I figure out if I want to build a dedicated-irons 300 BLK carbine. I like how light & fast it is with no optic. Here you see the blue force gear sling, which is a quick-adjust 2-point. QD swivels on both ends mate up to the Vltor stock on the rear and a Magpul metal QD rail socket on the front.

2 point on both my duty rifle and my personal rifle

1 has a Viking Tactics padded version and 1 has the Blue Force Gear non padded version

    BFG
    https://www.blueforcegear.com/vcas-acetal-sling.html

    VTAC
    http://www.vikingtactics.com/product-p/vtac-mk2.htm

I'd buy both again in a heartbeat, but prefer the VTAC for duty use just because it's the wider padded version...otherwise I'd say they're comparable

Little this. Little that 4x4 Swap’d PreRunner
Those are both good, I'm not a padded fan though.

I run a Vickers Tactical on my service Rifle. I've got a 5.11 VTAC on my AR at home. Both are great because they have pull tabs that you can tighten/loosen the sling.

Plus 1 for the vtac sling. I'm love mine. i don't like 1 point slings. The magazines kept hitting me in the balls.

For those of you who have painted a rifle before, what did you tape off while working on it?

I'm gonna paint my .458 socom. I am using brownells alumahyde II so once it cures it is one there lol. Just don't know what to tape, especially on the reciever. Part of me says to detail strip it and then just tape the holes up.

I'd tear it down, degrease & spray part by part, but that's me. Too easy not to on an AR. If you are painting a whole rifle, I would think all you need to do is close the ejection port. I use cerakote. There are no tolerances tight enough on an AR to warrant taping holes on parts for cerakote except maybe the gas port on the barrel, but alumahyde might be thicker. Obviously you would not spray trigger parts, the chamber or the bcg. I haven't done an AR so this is all theoretical but I have done an 870 and it worked great. Dgreasing is the key.
