A local lumber jack acquaintance recently blew a hole through his knee in his home trying to clear his gun a month ago.
I do not know him well but, I heard he has a limp now.

I have. I got to compare it side by side with my ACOG. It didn't have enough going for it to say it was any better. The one I used had a mil dot reticle, which is something that I was lukewarm about. I always enjoy the ability to easily adapt to any ammo without having to swap optics, but at the same time a fixed mag 4x mil dot combat optic didn't make much sense to me, since the idea behind the combat optic is to have a minute-of-man system that doesn't require any calculations by the user. Battery power was cool, but even Trijicon has that now.

I'd probably only take one over an ACOG if it had a BDC reticle and I was getting a good discount over the ACOG. I felt the same way about the ELCAN 1/4x.
