If the AR short stroked though, should it have been able to chamber the next round? Admittedly, I'm not experienced with this gun and was doing some reading on similar issues to what I experienced. One of the things I read was, that if the bolt cycled back far enough to chamber the next round, it should have gone back far enough to reset the hammer. Any truth to that?

I do have about 47 rounds of the old ammo left, I'll try your suggestion. I'll put some rounds of the stuff I know works downrange, then switch to the old stuff and see what happens. Thanks for the help and I'll let you know how it goes.

I'm still not keen on polymer. Blem lowers are like $40

I've watched them fail. It's not pretty. With an SBR theres a lot more stress too haha.

I'm not sold on piston unless it's PWS long stroke. Thems is niiiiiice.

I have about 1000 rounds through my AR with the New Frontier Poly lower and haven't had any problems with at all. I don't get to shoot as much as I want to though, too busy all the time now it seems like. I do like that they guarantee them and replacement parts are free.

I've never had a problem with my poly lower shooting but sadly It didnt survive the whoops while strapped in the bed of my truck in a soft case:

strange because I shot the shit out of it. Then when I was unpacking at home, it was in half lol. FMK did replace it for free no questions asked. Now it just goes on my rifle that I'll never bring to the desert.

And just think you would have had to start over on a new stamp on your new replacement lower if it was an nfa item

It was strapped down race-tight in my bed. 2 day desert trip of strapping it down, plowing through dirt, unstrapping, shooting, strapping down, plowing through dirt, etc. I guess the constant bouncing and maybe the force of ratchet straps against it put too much pressure on that rear takedown pin

I've had all sorts of materials break on my guns. Aluminum charging handle from PSA, welds on my AKs, aluminum buffer tubes and bent buffer detents.

Poly lower with $200 tax stamp for SBR reminds me of the guy that owns a $2500 GA Precision rifle with a $300 scope.

I love it because it is fun and CHEAP to shoot! shooting my mosin vs shooting my semi-autos means going through way less ammo and cheaper ammo at the same time.

I agree. And the new stock and trigger make it fun to shoot also. This year I'm going to throw a cheap scope on it to round it out. :D
