I run a 10.5, but I'd opt for an 11.5 if I were to do it over, just a bit more reliability and better ballistics. When you hit 12.5 and above your tax stamp seems to be pretty expensive for what you are getting.

Success! I had a cycling issue with my AR, the bolt would catch after every round. Took off the BAD lever and it cycles perfectly. Now to figure out if I want to put the lever back on and find a work around or just leave it off...

Get the phase 5 tactical EBRv1. Because it's the first one made before magpul tried and it works better. Or get the v2 and it replace the bolt catch as a whole. I have two, they work great. Also the tactical link EBRL I had one of those and replaced it with the P5T one. I think I still have it.

Do you guys know what is different between the Magpul and Phase 5? If I have cycling issues with the Magpul, would I be better off getting the V2 so it completely replaces everything?

One thing to keep in mind on the Ceracoat is that there's only one approved source for Kryptek patterns. MCM Firearms has the licensed stencils form Kryptek. A little while back either Weapon Worx or BDL Customs actually got a C&D letter from Kryptek since they were getting so well known for ceracoating their patterns.

The Magpul is an add on exclusively, where the Phase 5 has both add on and single piece bolt catch releases. Not completely sure why your Bad lever was affecting your cycling knowing that it doesn't interact the the mechanism that makes the catch work in the first place. That comes from the magazine itself and the spring loaded underneath it.

Someone told me it could have been the weight of the lever making the catch peak up just enough to snag the bolt. It used to catch the bolt just about every round before, I shot a few hundred rounds yesterday with no issues. I just wasn't sure if the Magpul lever caused a cycling issue, would I be best to just scrap the BAD lever idea altogether, go with the 1 piece V2 or is there a likelihood that I'll have the same issue if I go with the V1.

I believe you. It just seems odd. It doesn't weigh that much, unless the way it was seated would actually touch the side of the upper receiver preventing it from laying completely flat.

It's light enough that it really shouldn't pose a problem since it isn't putting any direct force on the bottom end of the bolt catch. If it were horizontal maybe, but the bolt catch pivots vertically. So unless there is direct pressure pushing on the left side of the bolt catch it shouldn't move.

Maybe the spring/plunger is too short, or the spring is weak. Those are the only two things I can think would cause that problem

Leave it off. Other than their t-shirts, the only bad Magpul product out there.

Anyone have any experience with the SI Cookie Cutter comp? Thinking about getting it for my 7.5" build.

I've never heard of them until you asked the question. Looks interesting. I personally run a Lantac Dragon on my 7.5" and I love it.

Yeah this looks like it will be obnoxious, which is fine with me. More importantly to me though, it gives me a small OAL. Trying to keep it as short as I can.
