I'm getting marks like this on my pistol. Barrel dpms 7.5 bcg is bcm upper rec is bcm. Has had headspace checked and gtg. Bolt bad no burs anywhere to cause this. Happens on all ammo .223 5.5 brass or steel. I'm at a loss. Any ideas?

You wouldn't want a MA neutered model anyways

It is something to do with the bcm bcg as a different bcg does not have this issue. But I want to use this one for the pistol since its been there since day one. But idk.

So far, you're the highest bidder on TW. I'll have to politely decline.

    Hm..
You're right. But, but for only a dollar selling cost I'd be able to afford to transform it back into a 'freedom-ready' model.

    Face of your extractor maybe?

What weight buffer is in your gun? The brass is showing signs of the gun extracting/ejecting waaay too soon, which is a common issue with really short guns.

    Spikes st t2 buffer.
Would the pigtail gastube help slow it down? I almost got one but I got click happy one night ordering parts.

For an ar it does have a little kick almost as if buffer is hitting back of tube. When building this thing last year I was told use this combo but honestly haven't been pleased and very rarely shot it.

A pigtail would slow it down a touch, but what you really need to do is reduce the amount of gas pressure in the system. An adjustable gas block, or a fixed blocked with a restricted port in it will help greatly. Gas port holes in barrels are generally very oversized. If I had the rifle in front of me I could diagnose it more specifically in just a few minutes.

I understand. I have it apart now, I'll try to measure the gas port size.

That edge on the bolt face under the extractor could be on the sharp side, however seeing the dent on the other side from the ejector leads me to believe it might be over-pressured ammo.

    (Edited, changed my mind)

Could be your ejector protruding too much too, I think if it was over-pressured ammo the ejector would leave more of a dent, not a circle.

Someday I'd love to fart around with some 80% lowers. I figure they'd be good to get into machining with since they're soft aluminum.

these weren't too soft, my dad was surprised. snapped one end mill, so had to slow it down a bit. not sure what aluminum type these are...
