You can see in the pic above where it chipped the finish while I was testing it and trying to figure out the issue

Mass produced cheap parts sometimes need a touch of hand fitting to work 100%.

I do have to admit that I was wondering what arf.com would have to do with this thread...

That seems odd. Ive been on AR15.com for a few years with a gmail account and never had any issues.

Someone want to recommend me a hand guard for my old rifle? it's time to refresh it a bit

It currently has a Midwest Industries MCTAR-21 quad rail, and I'm looking to move into something NOT quad railed

Needs to fit midlength gas system with fixed front sight and fairly light weight

I'm not ruling out replacing fixed sight with a low pro gas block and flip up sight, but that's $100 I don't want to spend

I'm a huge fan of the Troy VTAC, but it's probably old & busted since it's not MLok or Keymod.

Here it is on a midlength with an A2 gasblock as mentioned.

If you want to go even lighter, the Samson rails weigh next to nothing.

Honestly don't care about keymod or mlok...I'm digging that Troy

I don't run any extra "stuff" so the ability to hang stuff off the rifle is unnecessary
