Yes, ca does not allow mag capacity of over 10 rounds unless you owned the mags before the ban, even then "high" cap mag can only be used on a "featureless" Firearm.

speaking of which... L.A. city recently passed a ban on all hi cap... does anyone know for sure if that includes pre ban guns? I was told at Turner's that even pre-ban mags are no longer legal within L.A. city limits... im thankful that I live outside of city limits, but the local outdoor range I go to is in LAPD jurisdiction...

From my understanding (im not in Ca any more but I try to stay on top of stuff) high cap is not legal at all in LA city limits.

Question for those that have built a few AR's. I bought a stripped upper and lower from Noveske, parts kit from RRA, I coated the lower with the molycoat from John Norrell but have not coated the upper yet. I test fitted the upper last night and the rear take down pin is so tight once its all the way in I cannot get it back out by hand. I moved it in and out a few times and it loosened up a little but still extremely tight. There is absolutely zero play in the upper and lower which is nice but is the tight pin normal on first assembly? I am thinking the slight bit of moly in the holes in the lower may cause it to be tight but the pin slides fine without the upper attached (upper is raw black anodize from Noveske) then with the upper attached it becomes very tight

That's normal for Noveske uppers. You could polish it a bit if it bothers you, but eventually it will wear in on it's own.

I shot the 3 gun version, it has a nice trigger. They cnc all their uppers and lowers, I like that and believe it gives them better quality control. I don't have one in the safe, but if a good deal came up I'd buy one no problem.

Went and taught another night vision spot and stalk hunting class in Texas. This is what my kit looks like when packed up to travel. I hand carry my PVS12 and PVS14 in my backpack. To much money to trust to baggage handlers.

Thats what I have on my 300blk SBR. Not a bad red dot. Though after them lying to the government i'd probably look elsewhere. Aimpoint or even a holoson (new company but getting good reviews)

yeah, I read about that, but I'm not thinking of using it in extreme temperatures and I do like the larger field of view vs the Aimpoint, hmmmmmm.....still thinking! :D

    :amen:
I just recently learned to shoot both eyes open with iron sights, but I've almost always shot both eyes open with red dots.

Aim point is better IMO because of the battery life and the tube design is likely to be stronger.
Also eotech has had more issues than just the temperature thing.

Holosun is a great aim point alternative for about half the price based on my research, it will be my first "quality" red dot.
