That's the plan. Question is do I go and do a full upper build or buy an assembled upper...decisions!

I would consider building the upper as opposed to buying a completed one. It lets you research different barrels and bolt carrier groups and I think that is where the money spent matters, as well as the trigger; If you want to build a more "premium" rifle. Also allows you to choose what type of hand guard you want; free floating, keymod/m-lock, rails/no rails, etc. I have only built one ar-15, and I'm glad I went with building the upper as opposed to buying a completed one. Just my $.02!

Agree man, I was looking into both options. Building means more money but no regrets. My current AR i wish I built. Plus its not like a truck where you can sell all the used parts haha

@BananaPeelOut i think that's the route I'm going to take on this. Build it out how I want it

I have done both. Got a completed upper on the first one. Second one was a complete build and it went pretty good. Third one I got a BCM upper I had been after for a while. You can't go wrong either way if you get a good deal on stuff. You will have fun both ways.

I dunno man, I have a spike's NiB coated one that has ate a metric shit ton of ammo without any signs of wear I can see. Like I just replaced the colt chrome lined barrel due to throat erosion, how many rounds is that? 50K? Lots. Plus I like the color once the carbon soaks in! http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.a...Boron+5.56+M16+Bolt+Carrier+Group&groupid=723

well I was gunna get a glock 19 at te end of the year but I think now with all this worry about laws and stuff around 556 and AR getting worse. Looks like I need to build an AR next year and the end of this year.
@Shmellmopwho no winch and compressor next year so push that back lol

I wasn't speaking from first hand knowledge, but what I found on this website FWIW: https://robarguns.com/blog/2013/08/23/np3-vs-nickel-boron/

Impressive numbers though! you build the rifle yourself?

could just buy a couple receivers to be built for whenever you're ready. I'm thinking about picking a few more myself.

    Need suggestions
I need suggestions/ help. First build. I Built a stripped noveski gen 1 lower with a palmetto arms kit. I cant find a reasonably priced noveske upper for the life of me. Does anyone know an upper that would go well with my lower? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Was trying not to hodge podge together a gun bc I figure that is a bad thing?? I really dont know
