So I'd like some feed back on this if anyone is interested. I've been pressing my own ammo for some time now. Nothing really in bulk, but high quality 5.56, 7.62x39, .308, .240, 30-06, 300blk, .338 and some others. If anyone is in the market for custom rounds at their specs. In small batches I can provide that. I'm in the process now if getting a Dillon 1500 which will let me press about 1100 rounds an hour. This is just a feeler to see if anyone of you TW shooters would be interested in bulk .223 , 7.62x39, 9mm and .45acp. I'll only be able to provide those in bulk to start. I'm not to sure on the pricing for bulk ammo yet but it will be pretty competitive and I'll offer a brass buyback for discounted rates. Again this is just a feeler to see if any of you guys and gals would be interested. Anyways good shooting!

I like the idea, if I was still in SD (so I would be local) I'd say I would be interested in 223, but I think shipping would be killer for a small quantity person such as yourself.

For bulk I agree. If you're buying precision custom small batches >100. It wouldn't be to bad

I figured if I can get a handful of guys together who want some ammo in bulk it will justify me buying a 55 gallon drum of brass.

That's my target buyers (200, 500, 1000rds ). It's going to be a few weeks until I'm up and running for those quantities but I tag everyone who's interested when the first 10k of the big sellers (5.56 & 9mm) are done. Hopefully that will be enough to keep you ammo hungry patriots happy !

Curious how how hard was it to get the FFL-06 in SD? Would have thought being in SD it would be quite difficult on the local level to even get into business making ammo.

Course Im assuming you are going the legal route and being licensed, insured, and collecting the excise tax the feds want.

and im assuming you mean Dillon 1050 :) Great machines. If you are serious into getting into it Id look at automating it which doesnt cost that much more (well all things considered)

Yup Dillon 1050 (typo) Yeah I tried to get a type 7 a few months back and I got turned down because of being a residential property. That's the only thing holding up this process I hope it goes thought, if not we'll I'll have a crap load of ammo for myself

Try for just a 06. It's limiting but I've heard it's a bit more forgiving since its only ammo and not firearms. Did you get turned down locally or by the atf?

Either way good luck and make sure you get insurance! We had a local "company" (guy with a dillion 1050) sell ammo at a gun show. With in a few days it was a shit show with bad reports. Squibs, hotter than normal loads, and one damaged gun.

Too many to list. See build page. Link in signature
Looking at purchasing my first AR. I was hoping to keep it around $1000 plus optics and other small add ons. Thinking I'll be closer to $2k by the time its all said and done with ammo to start. I was strongly looking into the Smith & Wesson M&P 15t it's the tactical version of their popular sport version and includes upgrades such as a forward assist and quad rail, among others. Seems like a solid gun that is reliable and well tested. Since my knowledge of ARs is extremely limited to the very very basics, would this be a good solid rifle or can i build something significantly better within same budget. Keep in mind im in California

A few additions to make me feel cool.
You can build a much better AR for far less. I don't like the M&P because they are not mil spec and trap you into parts that only work on the M&P. If you budget $800 you can build a really nice AR without optics.
