You could camp at Stone Mountain and only be 30 mins away from the Convention center.

My 2 cents. I used to have a "big box" safe and always figured it would take 30 minutes to hour to break into and didn't worry since most robberies are smash and grab....but then after hearing about a local break in and "Any store bought gun safe can be broken into in 1.5 minutes or less"...I looked up some videos on you tube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBhOjWHbD6M) ..and sure enough...guys can break into any big heavy safe bought at your local sporting goods or Costco in under a minute with all the tools I have in my garage (long Pinch bar, crow bar, saws all).
The you tube break in videos are very eye opening. I got rid of my old safe(I think it was a stack on or sentry) and got a Sturdy Safe....and they are even more impressive in person than in their videos. With several NFA items...I wanted the piece of mind my stuff was completely safe.

Yup a lot of safes aren't actually that secure. but they do work for most people and in most situations. Keeps them out of the hands of kids and from the smash and grabs.

I always forget the name of my same but I have a 32 gun safe and then share a liberty fat boy with my dad (he has half and I have half). I also have a small Winchester safe (its like 30" tall. that I just use for generic safe storage.

And I hear you on the tools aspect. my dad bought a job box for his garage and stores all the power tools in that.

Scott, first take the time to read this, plus all the links;http://gunsafereviewsguy.com/buyers-guide/best-gun-safe/
Then look here at real safes; https://www.lackasafe.com/. They are a family run business and they sell new and reconditioned real safes, and they will customize the interior any way you like. Talk to Mac, the owner.

Not trying to offend, just passing along what I've learned. Read the first link above, and you will easily understand why anything sold at T/S, home depot, Costco, Dicks, etc., are not classified as "safes". They are classified as "residential security containers".

This is a truth every gun owner is aware of .

Check the links I gave Scott. With space at a premium this company; https://www.sturdysafe.com/ has sizing going up a couple inches at a time in each dimension to help you maximize your space.

See my reply to KB Voodoo.

I'd like to also add my $.02 as a career corrections officer - criminals tell each other shit. They might not get in you RSC the first time, but if you've got a big locked box in your house, good chance they're gonna tell someone who's coming back more prepared, that's their job. Also, hide it as well as you can because you don't know who the cable guy, plumber etc, will open their mouth to about the cool big safe they saw at your house. Same goes for all our kids' friends. Word gets around with social media, who knows who's going to hear about it, and no one assumes you have a safe for your shot glass collection. You are now someone with stuff worthy of being in a safe.

Me? No sir. It's a GPI. And it's junk. That magazine barely fits in and out of it. I have to force it in and out. I bought a new Aero Precision stripped lower that I'll be building up and swapping onto it.

It works fine with PMags but this is a 6.8 and my PRI 6.8 mags don't fit worth a damn at all. So I'll be building a 5.56 upper for this lower in a few months.

I've noticed the PRI 6.8 mags are a little tight in both of my lowers (CMMG and PSA).

They fit great in my Aero lower. Go in with basically no resistance but aren't loose at all.

Unloaded they slide right in and out but I think the feed lips push out just a hair when they're loaded.
I'll have to try an Aero precision lower on my next build.

Layke is an AZ company, you have spent enough time in the AZBS thread to know that everything AZ is "good stuff".

    No flannel paint option....yet.

So you want a trigger other than mil-spec?
If you want an aftermarket trigger and pistol grip go ahead and get a barebones LPK, doesn't come with a trigger or pistol grip.
Otherwise just about any other LPK is just mil-spec, IIRC most are similar or made by the same people who make the CMMG LPK's.

I have their upper and lower. Great guys that make quality stuff, their main money comes from machining airplane and rocket parts. Their website sucks, but still great stuff.
