Yeah....I don't really have that problem. UPS is right behind my shop, plus my old roomie from college works there so if he sees something for me after hours or on the weekends, he just swings it by the house. Friends in low places!

Dont think ill have to worry about getting these two mixed up chambering. The 300blk slides right down the barrel of this beast!

OK so I'm building a m16 clone. Will be a dissipator version with lowprofilegas block and front iron. I had a thought I have been wanting a 300 blackout. Why not make this in to one. I see some talk on it. Nothing much else. I want a dissipator but not set on it. I like the way they look. I can't find any barrels to make this happen.

Can anyone help Google really let me down. Or is this a lost cause.

The 300blk works on pistol or carbine length gas systems. Thats why you do not see any barrels with a rifle length gass system. Why not just get a regular 300blk barrel and a full length freefloat rail and mount the sight way up there? Not quite the same idea but its close

Yeah I knew that about the gas system, which is why I was saying a low profile gas block that would be under my triangle handguards, then a front iron sight with no gas tube connected.

This is what I have seen on a couple online.

I may just get another free float, it's just I had bought some colt m16 furniture and I was wanting to build a replica, or tribute whatever you wanna call it but a little different with caliber.

So you need to find an unstepped BLK barrel, and a bolt-on A2 front sight. I think JP makes the sight but it's pretty $$. Then you just need a low profile gb, a pistol length gas tube, a triangle front handguard cap and some triangle hand guards & you're money!

Guess I could. I was just trying to keep this gun around 600. Never priced something like that.

Hoping to just buy off shelf parts.

I took a new way home a few days ago and came across a mom & pop outdoors shop. They had a new MP15 Sport 2 priced at $599 cash + tax = $642 out the door. I don't think I can beat this anywhere at the local big box shops or online. Next question: What accessories do I need out the gate? Second mag, Froglube, 5.56 barrel snake? I already have a basic cleaning kit at home with Hoppe's, Remington gun lube, clothes, etc. I'd like to get a brick of ammo, would prefer brass, since my only local shooting option is the indoor firing lane. I hear the steel Tula is pretty cloudy on exit.

Before you buy ammo, what's the twist rate of the barrel?

Steel tends to stick, I'd stay with brass. Under 60 grain with 55 grain being what 1/9s were designed for. You start getting problems with bullets heavier than that. Just make sure it's actually chambered in 5.56 and then you can shoot it or .223, which is cheaper and decent for practice.

Installed a Franklin Armory Binary trigger in my AR pistol. It was a PITA, but it's going to be fun!!!
