Outkast, how do you feel about that MI rail? I'm finishing up my 10.5 300 blk pistol, but I'm on the fence between the Geissele MK8 and the MI rail that you have... Just curious if there is a huge difference in build quality between the two, considering the MI rail is less than half the price.

@OuTkAsT thank you brother fit th detailed review... Yeah I've heard that the MI rail does heat up considerably and you are correct, geissele is geissele... I built a 16" 5.56, but this 300 blk will be my showcase, so I think you have made my mind up... I'll drop the extra bones and get the MK8

Got the family out for a group picture. Not as artistic as others have posted, but the 308 is just too damn long haha.

What are you guys using for a lube/cleaner?

Thinking of picking up a big can of CLP.

Can't go wrong with CLP- I keep a can in my range bag. I like it for quick sprays or wipe downs, but if I'm doing a detailed cleaning, I prefer to use a separate solvent/lube. Heard mixed review about frog lube. Some guys swear by it, some guys have said it'll gum your shit up. I've never used it.

I have also heard mixed reviews on the frog lube. Lord knows I need to do an actual deep clean one of these days.

That was the other one on the list.

Get the biggest can you can. We run hundreds of rounds weekly at work and CLP is the only thing allowed in our rifles.

Frog lube can get thick when it gets cold. I've seen malfunctions caused by this. Lucas gun oil works very well. I use a CLP for cleaning and Lucas for lube. It works very well in my carry and competition guns. It also holds up to the heat from suppressing my ARs.
