I started using jam nuts on my builds because I hate dealing with clocking muzzle brakes or torqueing on crush washers. There are cheaper ones, but a quick search found these. Stainless to match you barrel and blend in:
    https://rouschsports.com/shop/tools...s-jam-nut-stainless-steel-12-28-916-24-58-24/

Check ebay for some cheaper options. The extended sleeve hides and extended threads or the machined shoulder on the barrel before the threads.

Hmm i wonder if those would go over the barrel or not? I like the idea of those though and it does look good.

They do. That's what the extended sleeve is for. Only a small portion is actually threaded, the rest slides over the barrel for a more streamlined look. Think ET lug nuts, but backwards, if that makes sense.

I got to imagine if its a company that deals with rifles as they do, then yes it would fit over the barrel

Got another question, for my sbr, looking at purchasing this barrel: https://www.rainierarms.com/faxon-firearms-300blk-chrome-lined-4150-5r-barrel Dont know if its the best "work" barrel that I can find at 8.5in 300aac, I definatly am not going with an SS barrel, I need it to continually work and SS often doesnt like to play with long use and hot temps. Any suggestions besides what im looking at?

How do you shoot that rifle, your scope mount is backwards. You have zero eye relief, I hope that isn't a duty rifle.

Shoots perfect. Scope is listed with a 4 inch eye relief. I mounted it that way because I didn't care for how for forward the scope sat the other way. It's a UTG scope mount that can be mounted either way. Look it up.

IMG_0111.jpg IMG_0112.jpg So much for the backwards theory. Thanks though..

image.jpg It can't shoot ideally. Because you can't get a proper cheek weld. Your nose should be almost touching the charging handle. UTG is wrong with their advice. I'm not trying to be a dick but your doing it wrong don't be insulted or obstinate I'm just trying to help. Reverse mounting a forward cantilever scope mount defeats the design intent of the forward off set.

What? Everyone's cheek weld is different in some way and depending on situation and stance, it could be way different than what you're used too. Not to call you out but I would expect @DeputyJ to have maybe a little more experience than an average citizen in textbook procedure of properly shouldering of a rifle. If I'm wrong and you have had major experience as law enforcement or military, than I take that back, but there's still no reason to call someone out on their placement of a scope, if it helps him keep shots on center mass, then I'm all for it.
