Larue is awesome, I have the flip mount for my aimpoint magnifier. Love it. Plus they send a jar of their BBQ rub with orders and a cool armadillo bottle opener. Quality company, nice choice.

The larue looks awesome, just a bit more than I want to spend. Thanks for the info though.

Built my very first complete pistol lower from a stripped lower and parts kit. Only tool used was a pair of channel locks. I can't believe how easy (and inexpensive) it was. I'm never buying a complete AR again!

I also use channel locks. I watched videos where people used hammers and punches and scratch and scuff up their lowers. I just use channel locks and a vice to press in the pins.

Salty Dog, reverse your scope mount to its proper position. Your scope should be moved about two inches forward towards the muzzle. Try it,I promise you will astonished on how well you will like your eye relief and how much easier to shoot consistent long range groups.

Scope position has no impact on eye relief or accuracy. If he isn't a nose to charging handle kind of guy there is no problem with his scope mounted like that.

Politely you are 100% incorrect. Consistent proper cheek weld is fundamental to accurate shooting.

Consistent proper cheekweld can happen with the scope positioned as it is on that rifle.

Couldn't agree more! I just finished building (well more like assembling) my first stripped AR lower. Topped it off with a 7.5" PSA 5.56 complete pistol upper and I couldn't be happier. It was much easier than I thought and allowed me to customize it to my liking. I will never buy another complete AR.

He was on late last night. Probably isn't awake yet. He'll wake up to a shitstorm in his thread and probably take it down, unless mods do it for him before them. Then he'll just, "WTF?"

Some red magazines would look awesome on that:

That is a fantastic idea! Thank you!! I thought I was pretty close to done with that build but it looks like I will be ordering a couple mags and getting some dye.

Make sure to get the liquid dye, not the tablets. The longer you leave them in, the darker and richer the color. Red will look pink in the beginning, but just give them more time and make sure to flip for even coverage. You can do a test batch with those useless little covers the mags come with. I bought a few sand mags with this in mind (red specifically), but once they arrived, I kind of like that they look almost white (light beige/ off white). I kept two as is. Might go stormtrooper on my next build.

Thanks for the tip and the great idea. I will be ordering a couple magazines when I get home from work tonight.
