Another major suggestion, since this seems to be your first AR @MadDaddy , I would suggest, if you have it or are willing to save up a little more, getting a factory 1/8 twist rifle. Here's the Grab A Gun link for the M&P15T with 1/8t im suggesting instead of the sport: http://grabagun.com/s-w-m-p15t-556nato-16-30rd-qd-rail.html?source=igodigital .
First off you get the 1/8 barrel, which means you're going to have a medium twist barrel. Being this is your first AR, you're more than likely going to run whatever ammo you find. Having the 1/8 gives you pretty good freedom to shoot almost any weight ~accurately~. The M&P sport your looking at comes with a 1/9 twist which is more directly suited for 62g, specifically M855. 1/9 is good up until about 70g when it goes a little wonky. 1/8 is best suited for up to 77g, which is highest I would ever go, if you want more stopping power, time to go 300blk or 458 lol  but 1/8 is good to great even with 55g+. But even with different grains and different twists, sometimes it comes down to ammo quality and user accuracy.
Another great thing about the M&P15T vs the sport, besides the barrel, is the FF quad rail. Some don't like it, but it allows freedom to attach a grip or a light if you so choose. Though if you want more of an original A2 look, then the drop in handguard on the sport is the way to go. Just a suggestion.:D

Shop around locally too. AR's are dirt cheap right now so you could potentially pick up a used one for the same or less than the MP15's new. I stopped at the local craptastic gunshop near me a week or so ago and they had 3 or 4 AR's on consignment for actually good prices (for this store they were priced amazingly :) )

Has anyone ordered from Juggernaut Tactical? I'm in the middle of an AR10 build and I got an upper and lower from these guys. About a 2 month wait, no big deal. Well in the mean time I also ordered a color matched (sniper grey) handguard. Here is the problem. I ordered the handguard on 1-20-17 and still haven't received it. I've sent them numerous emails and they always reply but I have a complete rifle minus a handguard. I'm highly pissed. Any suggestions?

Wait another 6 months it's going to be a buyers market for AR's as Manufactures over built in 2016 on a false narrative in an election year.....

Shit last month at the Dulles Gun Show S&W M&P 15 were $479 Windham Weaponry $499 and many others all under $525...

Manufactures are sitting on an estimated 2.5 million AR's at the moment from Manufacture reps I have spoken with.... Colt being the largest holder at the moment...Sig setting in 2nd place then S&W....

This is what I think I'll do. My dad is anxious for me to get one- so much so that he's put up $150 to spur me on to buy one. Here's my dad's MP15. He paid $680 otd. with LEO discount two years ago, then put an additional $300-400 into it:

I'll keep an eye on Grab a Gun, Armslist, Gallery of Guns, and Kentucky Gun Co. for dropping prices as we near Summer. I'd feel great about a sub-$500 AR.

PSAs can be had for $520 every now and then. Down from $700 I think? If Putin plays nice I could see sanctions being loosened and proves dropping again. I remember WASRs being less than $300

It's anyone's guess. It wouldn't look good to loosen sanctions with Russia still stirring shit up in Ukraine but who knows. I'll just keep sticking ammo, mags, and lowers.

I hate how AK prices are still so high. A c39v2 costs $800 but a smith and Wesson mp15 cost $500 doesn't make sense.
