Silencer Shop is the only way to go. I got my trust in less and an hour from www.myguntrust.com (out of Austin too). Although there are some other options available now through Silencer Shop. If you ou can get your trust (notarized), you can end up purchasing your supressor all in the same day.
Keep in mind, 223 is not subsonic so it is never going to be that quiet. It sounds like a 22 (so no ear hearing protection needed). Now the AR9 sounds like a pellet gun.

Been working on a AR9 build and noticed that the more expensive CMMG 9mm colt mags would not work in my build until I did a little bit of filing on the mag catch. I just to two C-mags today and they went right in now sweat. Also half the cost of CMMG. Just thought I'd share that experience. I want to try a few more out. But so far those are all I've had access too.

I only use Metalform or PSA (Which is a branded Metalform)..and never had a mag issue. I believe the CMMG mag is also a branded Metalform.
My "mag" issue turned out to be an upper issue. When I first built it...the mag would go too far up in the upper (Vltor) and get pinched and not drop back down to the mag release catch. I did a little filing on the upper..never had an issue since.

    But late to your question...

I have the SDN-6. Would I buy it again? Probably not if buying today. Back when I bought it (6-7 years ago) it was one of the few options and was affordable and good. It still is mind you. But these days there are a lot better designs (IMO) from other companies at cheaper/same price points.. I still use mine (and will continue too) on my AR's though!

The OSS is one of those things that I feel like tons of people find intriguing, but with the way NFA items work it just hasn't gotten popular.

I gotta say, I'm concerned at this point about our future as gun owners right now.

Yeah, I don't wanna bash Trump and I do agree with you. But Trump is not a gun guy. He will turn his back on us to make a deal with the Dems. Like say, getting healthcare overhauled. IDK, I hope I'm wrong. Just really freaked out about this shooting. Really bothering me.

I would too. I love shooting. But, did you see his brother? He was totally speechless. You'd think he would have know this dude was into guns. 40 at his house? It's just weird.
