Pretty sure they do stuff in house. May be wrong but I think they do now.

    When zeroed @ 100yards
The drop on a .223 @ 200 yards is only 2.2 inches! Not a big deal!

That’s why I was asking, I hear so many stories along way from the dozens and dozens of different manufactures and sometimes I crisscross them and just plain forget!:anonymous:

Bug Buster scope? If so, how do you like it? Just mounted, mine. Haven't gone to the range yet. Also, Link for AFG? Thanks

How do you know what accessories like scopes and vertical grips fit? A buddy of mine just bought a used M&P 15-22, the first GEN, with the Picatinny rails on it. You have to buy accessories that specifically says Picatinny, correct? The second gen changed to, M-LOK? Is that the name of a rail system too?

Any weaver/picatinny mount will work! just not the 5/8 dove tails like on a bb gun. the M-lok is the style of hand guard you have and anything you would want to mount on your hand rail has to have that M-lok mounting system on it, or if you wanted to have a weaver/picatinny rail on your hand guard, that rail would need a M-lok mounting on the back of that so you could mount it to your hand guard.

(The weaver style free floats and the picatinny style is locked in by one of the cross studs to what your mounting, laying in one of the rails slots...but they a sensually the same)

I will say , that I have found with some cheep rails that I have bought threw the years, were so poorly manufactured that I have had some access. with 2 locking studs that fell into the slots, not go in because of tolerance issues with the rail. Like monolithical scope mounts.

    Does all that make sense????

Yes it makes sense so far. So any accessory you want to add, like a grip, scope, flashlight, bipod has to be m-lok or picatinny in this case? His fiance asked me to do some research or wanted me to give her some ideas for the gun for his birthday. What would be some good options to tell her? He shot is Saturday, but he didn't like the iron sights that are on it. I'm not sure if its the factory ones or not but that's why he is wanting a scope.

For the rest of our conversations the Weaver/picatinny word will be abbreviated to say W/P!!!!
I will break this apart into 2 statements. The first, your AR 15 should have a W/P rail on the top of the receiver. Obviously this is where you’re going to mount your scope and no M-lok style mounting is needed, Just your W/P style rings are necessary. #2 If he has an M-lok style forearm,Then yes, the flashlight/angeled handgrip/laser/ bipod, so on, would have to either have the m-lok mount or a picatinny mount. I will say that probably 90 percent of what you will find is for a W/P mount. so you will have to add those rails to your forearm unless if you do find ones with direct m-lok mont which is what the forearm was really designed for. I am assuming that he does have an unlocked handguard, right? A good example of a starting all-around scope would be:

    Or

    https://shop.opticsplanet.com/bushn...MIwouVzseU2AIV0UwNCh2F3g_sEAQYAyABEgJO2vD_BwE

If he wants a magnifying traditional style scope. You might want to leave that up to him because it’s a very personal preference of what kind of power and what kind to set up a person would want

Have any of you guys made an under the back seat gun holder for like an ar10 or ar15? I found a few threads on here but only with a shotgun

I removed the storage lid and this sits there and doesn't move. Been there more than a year. Can get to it by lifting just the drivers side rear seat. Would not fit with an optic.
