good choice, It's a PITA to swap the adapters out so it's essentially a dedicated lower anyway, and you won't have to worry about tensioning screws loosening up.

Heres where I'm at with my Ground Zero Precision AR15.

Got it a few weeks ago, ran 150-250 rounds of Federal 223 62gr (and some 55gr iirc) ran flawlessly.

Took it to the range earlier this week and shot some Aguila 556 62 gr and had several light strikes a couple failures to extract and some pulled primers. Signs of bad headspacing.

Took it to Wright Armory, they used a Fosters 223 "go" gauge, didnt fit. Headspacing is off reccomended i buy a barrel online and swap them out.

Called GZ Precision, was told that 223 wylde chamber + Aguila 556 (556 in general) do not get along. Recommended shooting some high quality lake city or similar to see if the issue is just the aguila, if there are still problems they will take the rifle back and fix the issue.

So thats where I'm at. Gonna try running more 223 through it and see if there are any issues.

If there are I think instead of sending it back i will take it as an opportunity toupgrade the barrel instead of sending it back.

3/12 reviews of the aguila ammo on bass pros website said they had pulled primers, failures to extract and sometimes wouldn't go all the way into the chamber. Im wondering if the cheap ammo really was part of the problem.

This is gonna sound dumb but check and see if the hammer spring is installed backwards. 556 primers are much harder than the ones used on factory 223. If the spring is backwards it will function fine for 223 but have lots of issues with 556.

Ask me how I know :bananadead:

Upside down hammer spring also does not hold the trigger pin like its supposed to, and when one side of the trigger pin comes out the hammer might not connect and can go full auto, but I am just guessing :anonymous:

Yeah, I don't really regret getting the mag block adapter vs a dedicated lower, however if I were to do it over again I would go dedicated in a heartbeat.

No progress, it's been a sloppy mess down here, I also came down with the flu Sunday (Pretty sure I caught it from co-workers Saturday) and was in bed monday-wednesday, feeling a little bit better but don't really think I'm competent to drive right now. On the plus side I've been drinking whiskey, lost 14 lbs (so far) and the friend of ours who is supplying targets for the range built a Texas star and hauled it out there. I really want to go shoot it when I get a chance.

I love shooting steel, started out shooting at targets another welding student and I welded up (not the greatest idea, but fuck it, also 7.62x54R will go through 2 pieces of mild 3/8" welded together :anonymous: ) then we got a 4" round of 1/2" AR500 and shot that, lots of fun, then the plate rack when we started building the range, and now the Texas star, I'm excited to see it all grow.

Definitely don't want to get the flu this year, many people I know have it or someone in their family does and most people are saying at least a week to recover.

Speaking of SHOT, did you see the Franklin Armory announcement? I'm 99% sure I figured out their legal hoop jumping and am tempted to ask my lawyer if I'm right so I can do the same thing they are.

I'm honestly surprised someone hasn't done it before, from what I'm reading they claim to have approval from BATFE.

My guess is they followed a similar path as the Black aces "firearm" shotgun.

I saw one theory that since a rifle fires one round with one pull of the trigger and Franklin has their binary trigger that fires two rounds with one pull of the trigger maybe they were exploiting something along those lines. IDK should be interesting to see for sure.

Negative, that would be a "machine gun" per the ATF definitions.

Aguila a shit. I bought some of their 9mm and almost shat a brick one time when I had a stoppage, and realized my pistol was just a hair out of battery only because it didn't drop the firing pin.

Case OAL was way too long, it was like a 9x20 round.

One shot on pull, one shot on release. Two separate "actions."

It's been ruled that each pull and release is a separate action.

I’m seriously interested in seeing what Franklin is doing there.

At what point can we just call the NFA dead? :D
