I got my SB3 a few weeks ago, put it on my Palmetto AR9 pistol. I really like the feel of it. Just need to get out to the range now!

What drop in trigger do you all recommend? I'm looking to spend less than $200.

    And let the fighting begin,

    ding!.

Man are you going to light a fuse on here.
At the end of the day, pretty much all aftermarket triggers will dance the same dance with the exception of some differences like single stage or double stage or adjustability, which are a personal experience and preference. Everybody has their favorites but once All the dicks have been put away, they’re pretty much the same, just sweet!

(and yes I’m speaking more about the mainstream aftermarket triggers. I’m sure there are some obscure makers that arn’t much better than a standard mill spec)

I only have experience with POF ($120) and CMC($170). They are both good, but I really like the feel of POF. I originally got it because it was one of the few triggers recommended for a QC10 AR9 (I now have it in 2 ARs). It is the most and highest rated trigger at Joeboboutfitters. Read the reviews, Everyone says it is the best bang for your buck (literally). There are probably are better triggers, but you are going to pay twice as much.

They take a few minutes to install, no big deal. If they went to a pre-assembled setup they couldn't claim its mil-spec.

I went back and looked, I got mine on sale for $114. I get most of my stuff from Joebobs. They have the best prices & sales, I dont have to pay sales tax and everything always arrives in 2 days with free shipping.

I installed a hiperfire 243G (now called the reflex) in an AR10 that I built and I absolutely love it, I’ve only dry fired it though.

Geissele SSA, Triggertech, or CMC 3.5lb. The Geissele is the most reliable with the best track record, but has the heaviest trigger pull of the 3. Triggertech has a very interesting but good feel, very clean break and an extremely short reset although I have had problems with them in AR9 platforms. CMC has the lightest "feel", nice break and good reset, also the least expensive of those.

    My $0.02

Now if you were willing to spend $250ish, I'd go for the Elfmann all day. Lightest/cleanest breaking trigger with an absurdly short reset. Definitely my favorite of any of the many triggers I've tried. Only thing that comes close is the AR Gold.

I've only ever run mil-spec or "enhanced" mil-spec triggers. My SBR has a ALG ACT that I want to upgrade. I've been eyeballing a hiperfire or velocity, but the last few posts have given me a few more things to look at.

i recently upgraded to an ALG act in my budget, range only ar.... i only shoot about 300 rounds year through it.

it fit my needs. if i had a nicer build, i would go geiselle SD3G.... sooooo nice.

I own 2 CMC's, have shot one Geiselle, and most recently I picked up a Triggertech. It's my favorite so far.

Right! You and I know that but the average Joe out there isn’t necessarily advanced in working on guns and obviously they’re not gunsmiths, so it seems complicated and scary to them. Where with a drop in trigger. Most people are willing to tackle because they don’t have the individual parts. Geissele could make both, it’s not against the law! LOL
