You are required to have the paperwork with you to my knowledge, it’s one of the laws associated with NFA items.

There is so much misinformation here it's ridiculous.
First and foremost, having registered class 3 weapons does not under any circumstance give the ATF the right to enter your house, search anything you own, or question you in any way, if there is not any further probable cause. Following the law and legally obtaining a tax stamp is about as far from probable cause as you can possibly be...

In the first scenario you spoke about the 28 year police veteran... He made 3 illegal SBR's, his ex-wife told someone about it. That's probable cause. Has nothing to do with him having a tax stamp or not.

The second scenario involving a guy at a local range. Firstly, a local range master absolutely cannot "hold" someone's weapon or otherwise detain someone under any circumstance. They are a RANGE officer, not a POLICE officer. Secondly "Who takes that shit to the range"... Well, almost everyone who has a tax stamp would. It's required that carry proof of your tax stamp at all times. Now, the only people that can demand to see it are ATF agents, but any other LEO can arrest you on suspicion of an illegal class 3 weapon if you refuse to show them. Most people would just show them their stamp... also, carrying a digital copy on your phone is completely acceptable. Moral of the story, this guy was also in the wrong. Carry your stamp, and show it to whomever asks if you want to avoid further suspicion.

So... both instances you described were 100% the fault of the "victim" involved.
Now go about your merry way, and stop spreading bullshit that you know absolutely nothing about. Misinformation like this is what stops law abiding citizens from purchasing things they are completely within their right to own. The more people we have exercising their 2nd amendment right to the furthest degree, the better.

Im totally happy having an AR pistol instead of an SBR but for none of the reasons above, that sounds like a bunch of nonsense afaik.

I just dont wanna wait on a tax stamp for a short barrel. Suppressors on the other hand though....

The line between Pistol and SBR is so muddled at this point, most people have a hard time justifying making the jump.
Suppressors on the other hand are the best thing you could ever get into, other than for your wallet. I'm waiting on my 6th suppressor stamp at the moment.

Built these 300blk, fde last month and the all black on saturday. I am ok with just leaving them as pistols, i have an 10.3" single stamp SBR and an mp5-22 sbr and they work just as well. :oldglory:

How do you like those "braces?" I put one on my AR9 pistol recently. I had an all rubber one on before that, really happy with the new brace.

I’m going to try one of the pdw braces next on a .45 AR pistol.

My Palmetto State Armory M4 Carbine kit showed up today - shipped Tuesday from the factory. I noted earlier that I'd picked up a CMMG stripped receiver. My son's arrived at his house today, too. I was impressed with the packing of the parts for the lower build - each sub-group was in its own bag with all the correct springs and detents. No need to try to find the right springs and they gave you an extra rear detent spring as well.

    IMG_3942.jpg

My son comes up tomorrow so I thought I'd knock out a few parts since I only have the one work bench so we wouldn't be using the same tools at the same time. I found a great step - by - step set of instructions for a lower build with lots of pictures. Given this was my first attempt at a build I needed all the pictures I could get!! One sub assembly led to another and...…..

    IMG_3944.jpg

It took me about 2.5 hours from start to finish. Now that I know what tools and learned some tricks, the next will be faster. I added a MAGPUL MBUS rear sight and swapped out the hand guard with a MAGPUL as well - never liked the bulky round hand guards. I need to get a sling and add a red dot but first I need to give it a run through on my range. That will probably be on Saturday afternoon after my son completes his. It seems to function check so far and it seems to fit together well - no slop that I noticed so far. All in all, for a $299 kit and with the receiver, rear sight and hand guard swap I'm at about $450 all in. I could have gone with a cheaper lower and kept the original handguard abd it would have been even a cheaper build.

I'll let you know how it shoots this weekend.

After a trip to a local gun show this morning, my I helped my son complete his build. While at the show, we both picked up replacement stocks, grips and an OD Magpul magazine. After completing the build, we went down to my small range and gave them a run through.

This is mine - in original configuration and then with the new furniture.

Here they both are on the bench ready to go.

And me shooting the first rounds through mine - my son put 60 rounds through his and I put 90 through mine without a malfunction.
    Sweet.

This has to be one of the craziest AR type products I've ever seen. A crossbow upper for your lower. Just slap it together and you got a crossbow that used your trigger and stock.

Trying to wrap up much lower build. I have my aero enhanced lower, rise armament trigger, and sba3 brace.

Only things left I need are lpk, anti rotation pins, buffer, buffer spring, and grip? What is all needed to attach my brace to my lower?

Installs exactly like any adjustable stock. Just swap out your buffer tube with the SBA3 buffer tube.
