Worst thing I imagine happening is the pin pulls out completely, breaking the other lug but all that would accomplish I no lock back on an empty mag. Can’t imagine a catastrophic failure as in “blow your face off”. Just sucks to buy a “pretty” lower and have it fail in a stupid way. My shitty forged lowers get kicked around regularly and show very little wear.

I wonder if it was the right sized hole, maybe too small and the install cracked it? Maybe spikes will replace?

I hope so. I bought it assembled form them but hadn’t noticed it cracked till now (almost a year later). I know it wasn’t always there. Just don’t know when it happened. Not sure how replacement would work with registration or if they’d destroy this one and mill a new one with the same S/N.
    :notsure:

...Or they could tell me to kick rocks.

A few additions to make me feel cool.
I put one of these same lowers together for a buddy. Done 10 or so normal Spikes lowers without issue but the skull one is a complete POS. The detent hole for the forward takedown pin was not drilled properly and had to cut the spring down to make it work. Was not milled properly for the spring and detent on the bolt catch and all of the spring and detent holes were clogged with white powder like it was not cleaned prior to coating. Good luck.

    Here are my blasters.

The camo one holds a pretty special place in my heart. It is the first rifle I ever purchased, and coincidentally I bought it the day of the Sandy Hook shooting. I didn’t know anything of the shooting until after getting home. It started life as a Sig M400 hunter model with the 20” non-threaded barrel and A2 stock. I put a PSA upper on it and painted it and have pretty much left it alone. I have put many rounds of both good and cheap ammo through it and this thing has yet to fail me.

This one has been used as a spare for awhile until I figure out what I want to do with it. I spent more on the BCM handguard than I did the rest of the rifle. I’m strongly considering a Faxon 18” in .223 Wylde or maybe branching out to .224 Valkyrie.

Shot the 12.5” 6.8 for the first time today, 110 Gr Hornady ammo seems to like the barrel, and it’s really comfortable to shoot suppressed.
Now to replace the 8 lb GI trigger in the lower.

I run cheap, 2 point, made in china, Midway slings. They hold the rifle on your shoulder or in your arms decently well.

I’m a big fan of the VTAC 2 point sling myself.
