You won't regret it. It creates a ton more storage back there. Keep in mind it will increase road noise when you lay the seats down. The carpet I put against the back and bottom really helped with that

Yeah, I sound deadened all that in prep for a stereo that I never installed. So it shouldn't be that much of an increase in noise.

I mount my Hi-Lift behind the seat. It is not lockable...so you are on your own there. The method should be very similar to what you are looking to do.

With a bit of work you can also fit 40mm ammo cans under it. I like quality organized storage.

The write-up on the Hi-Lift mount can be found here.

On the off chance you want me to figure out how to do this for an AR-15, I will be happy to accept a donation and rig it up. Hell, I may even build up the back seat for someone who wants to donate an AR-15 to me :).

Nothing screams "BREAK INTO MY CAR" like an openly displayed firearm.

Put this behind the seat of my 2017 Double Cab. The Condor bag fits the plastic pocket perfectly. Use a plastic coated cable to secure the AR halves through the magazine well and front sight loop and secure to the truck. Not for quick access, but fairly secure. Bag also contains 4 magazines plus room for a few more items.

6inch lift sitting on bilstein coilovers. Lexus is300 studs in front to keep stock wheels, general grabber red letters, nfab front bumper.
I was able to fit a mini 14 under my back seat when I removed the jack.
