You aren't buy chance talking about Opelika/LaGrange/Columbus are you? I buy ammo/mags from Academy, but they rarely have the grips

    I grabbed a 19x from a LGS b/c they price matched Academy

Ammo is high as a cat's back at the LCGS's

Ammo sucks at small shops because most can't afford multi million dollar contracts to buy 53 foot containers to buy direct and are stuck buying from distributors

I’ll buy some ammo from big stores if a good deal. I typically dnt mind paying a little more to support a smaller shop if they have good service. One local shop has a good bit of stuff but the employees are so arrogant I have a hard time supporting them. Service means a lot

    Yes it does

A lack of customer service and general arrogant attitude from employees at a very large local shop led me to open my own store....I had supported them when the owner was selling ammo out of his garage and through his first brick and mortar store...got too big for their britches and their employees were much too busy telling war stories with each other to even show me a gun they had in the case

I walked out and 6 months later I had 2 business partners, a business license, a storefront, an FFL and 25 guns in the case

Coming up on my 4 year anniversary and I'm doing a million in sales a year and have a TON of customers I've stolen from the local big shop for the same reasons...my 2 employees know that our biggest rule is to provide amazing customer service first and foremost

I worked for 7 years at an archery pro shop a day a week. I loved it and loved being there everyone was made to feel like family and welcome. We loved serving the customers and providing what they needed not the most expensive thing we could sell them. It was a tiny little shop and the number one Mathews dealer on the east coast. The shop is still there, still serving customers, but after tearing my shoulder up bad twice it ended my competitive shooting.
To me, just about the worst thing you can do to a customer is lie to them or worse talk down to them.

I am all about local support, but there is a mom and pop place in my town but they seem hell bent on selling me what they think I want. That is not cool. I did find a place bulkammo.com that has great prices on stuff, but they do not ship to CA. They do have an email they send out when they have stuff on sale. I wish I could order from them, but maybe they will work for some of you.

I have the lower parts kit for my AR10 and will be putting that together soon, I just need some blue locktight before I start putting it together.

Which AR10 are you building? I mean a kit or parts you gathered seperately

I am building an Aero Precision lower. I will be using an Aero upper, but I have not figured out if I will build it or just buy a completed upper.

I just finished an Aero build. I assembled the upper myself as a found good sales on parts I wanted. It was a fun project I went with a Ballistic advantage barrel because they had the option t pin the gas block. Being as they make the Aero barrels it was a safe bet for me they don’t dimple for the gas block so figured getting it pinned was more secure.
