I've gone back and forth on whether or not to sell mine. It does a lot of sitting around when it could be used by somebody else. Just don't have time to ride it, the FZ, and go do things with the truck.

I was looking at that site until I read TT. Everyone says that guy I a crook. I read one person got a working carb, everyone else received a shit carb that wasn't working, or jetted wrong, or advertised as a fcr39mx and they got a regular fcr39. I'm hesitant to order from them. Just as a FYI.

Didn't know that. I certainly appreciate the info! I am happy to order things from thumpertalk. But their actual forum is full of a lot of oppinionated garbage. It can only be taken at face value.

But hard break ins will make your motor implode and turn into a black hole

It did sound as though most were simply repeating what had been heard. No idea, they're still on my radar, but the TT kit is way more expensive. :notsure::frusty:

2 stroke break in requires heat cycles and 4 strokes are "ride it like you stole it" :bikewheelie2:

I'm looking at ordering through Sudco. I used to work for a shop so I have my fingers crossed they can order the carb for me at a discount and I'll piece together the adapter components :fingerscrossed: If that fails, scan the classifieds until I can't wait any longer and pay Thumper's price...

I know a guy that put a 40mm carb from a wr426 on his drz. Took him about a week of playing with boots and cables to make it work. But he claims she rips

Really... I had been trying to read about 40mm carbs because there's one local on CL at the moment. I take it that guy had some mods done though right?

Nope. Nothing more than a stock motor and yoshi exhaust. He said it was taking forever to get it jetted right
