    I agree.

Yup, exactly what I thought I remembered. We just ate it. I use epoxy now though for other projects. Thanks. That's a really concise training program. Nice.

It does, but I don't trust it. My other bikes have all had manual fuel shut offs so now they’re all the same, and that made the most sense to me

Ok, so you ditched the Automatic as it's referred to and went back to an Old School type? You have me so freaking confused at this point.

I have had two types of motorcycles in my life. Old School and New School. Both have a lever to allow gas to get to the engine. In 99.9999% of the cases, they all have an ON position, which immediately means there's an OFF position too. Same for RESERVE, they both had that. The only difference and until getting into this with y'all I was unaware, on the New School type, there is a PRIME position. I suppose I didn't know because I've never ran a modern bike out of gas. As a matter of fact (and talk about Farkels David @fatfurious2 ) my last bike I kept a 1 gal gas can in the trunk on long trips.

    FxCam_1314999881276.jpg Ready2Go.jpg

And it had it's own mode of transportation and a home away from home for event vacations out of inclement weather.

So yea, for me, this is all new territory. I remember tasting gas as a kid blowing out jet ports and down overflow tubes. I grew up in the city long long before the 12 O'Clock Boys. We'd side saddle out to places like Armistead Gardens, or behind Patterson High School on Bayview Ave. Some days we'd ride all the way (like 10 miles, a lot for a 15 yr old) out to Golden Ring Swim Club using the Amtrak line that runs out that way still.

Mine was white, or likely painted over. It was used, has a flat rear tire and one of the rear shocks was bad. My Mom wanted to kick my arse for giving another kid $300 bucks for it. She tried to make me sell it back. Or whatever to just get it out of our yard. Rowhouses have tiny tiny yards to begin with.

I'd like to have it today.

But this will have to suffice

Yes, i deleted the auto feature of the vacuum operated petcock.

as you’ll see, the old one on the left has “on” “reserve” and “prime”

prime is used only for draining of the tank, OR if you need to prime the carb after emptying it to clean it, install a jet kit, or after rebuilding the carb.

otherwise, it functioned on the “on” position until you needed to use reserve, which means its time to get fuel.

Now, my new one will only have on, reserve, and off. It will live in the off position unless the bike is running, and when I have to use reserve, I will need to get fuel immediately because the range was greatly diminished since the reserve tube is much closer to the regular pick up tube now. No big deal, i can always tip the bike over to the left side and put all the fuel in that side of the tank, and then beat feet to the gas station or back to my gas can

Seems when I joined, anonymity was rampant, and speaking the names of loved ones was taboo. I have always been respectful of that, and in the event I was trusted with this information, I upheld that sacred trust. Besides, I didn't want the name disclosure Gods descending on me in wraith.

But now we are free to say it! ALEC ALEC ALEC!!!!!!!! Whew, that felt good! Thanks Mason. :fistbump:

Had her out yesterday and the battery is completely dead. Going to throw it on the trickle charge and see if it will come back.

The rear brake grabs the tiniest little bit but the rear master is definitely bad

I need to rebuild the rear brake system.

Rear caliper and rear master rebuild kits. Maybe a new rear tire. And an oil change. Then i should be able to throw down again…might just burn down the rear tire I have first….
