I keep liability and comprehensive on my bikes which covers pretty much anything except collision. Mainly theft is what I want coverage for.

So take the money you spend on the increase in premium, put it in the bank, wait till it reaches the deductible, then everything after that is free money basically

Humor us. What's the difference with full coverage now vs a higher deductible.

Nice machine. Use to ride an E model with the 39mm carb, that thing helped big time on throttle delivery. You may have done this already, but if you haven't pull out the swing arm pivot bolt and anti seize it while it's still new. Suzuki didn't lube it from the factory and it will seize, making ones life a true pain. Keep an eye out for the water pump bearings and seals, this bike (and Kawasaki 400) share the same pump and prematurely wear out and leak coolant. I rebuilt mine with an all balls kit.

    Thank you.

You're the third person to mention the swingarm bolt. Any recommendations? Should i just walk it out one side, (grease or antiseize?) at least 90% of it and put it back in?

I have noticed dust tracking around the water pump housing but i'm not exactly worried about it yet. 6200 miles on the machine currently.

There's a lot of responses, figured somebody perhaps touched on the bolt subject.

It's been a while, but I recently completed the job again on my CR250R. From what I remember you'll need to unbolt the lower linkage to remove the pivot bolt. Put the bike on a stand, back off the pivot nut on the right side (protect the threads!) place a screw driver through the pivot bolt (it's hollow) and tap with a hammer. Hopefully it will slide out, and it only goes out to the left, physically impossible to slide right. I prefer anti seize, or bel Ray grease. Remove the entire bolt and grease away. Slide back in, ride.

To put things into perspective, mine was 2002 model. To remove I had to lay the bike on its left side, spray liquid wrench for 3 days, heat the case with the wife's hair blow dryer, slide the screw driver through the bolt and slam on it with a 4lb hammer x 3 days. It was a bit of a ritual after work until the bolt surrendered. There are horror stories of guys taking the bike apart and putting into a machine press, cases splitting etc in the extreme situations. None of this will happen to you :)

If the bolt slides out the first time, the job is actually pretty easy

As for now, the winter list is as follows:

    Anti seize swing arm bolt
    Install four new turn signals
    New front tire
    Galfer stainless braided brake lines
EBC sintered pads front and rear
    More random decals
    Find more weight savings

Haven't opened it up all the way yet. Did a few good pulls and I haven't felt it nose over like it used to. So you are definitely right about that! But i haven't been faster than about 70.

I want to get about 100 miles on it before i do a full pull with it.

So far, the exhaust is awesome. The drone might get annoying but it sounds awesome. I've already found rev ranges that i can comfortably cruise at...so its not that bad.

Its like any exhaust, when you're on the throttle its loud. And when you're riding it or standing next to it, its loud. But when i'm putting through the neighborhood, no one really bats an eye if i'm not trying to get them to ;)
