Took off the lunch box today and buffed out the dirt marks.
Buffed out most of my scratches.
    Washed and lubed the chain.

I'd say! Looks like we have a pretty similar setup.

Thank ya. You need an MRD on there ;)

I dig it. The header really does help though. But I can certainly appreciate the ban for the buck mods. How does it sound?

    Seat looks fatter...seat concepts kit?

I'm intrigued by your headlight and turnsignals as well. I tried LEDs and a new flasher relay with no luck. What are you running?

I like those bars so much better than my protaper SEs. I'm going gold contours next time. Just don't know what adapters/risers I need I like the height of my bars now (CR high) and wouldn't want anything any higher.

Also, do you have plans to get a bigger tank?

My approach on this bike was "budget build" focusing on dropping weight wherever possible. I'm mostly off road. It'll never be a KTM, I've had plenty of those, but it works quite well if you drop some weight and play with the ergos. The pipe adds off idle snap and fatter jetting also adds to it. The headlight is a polisport halo; direct plug and play. Output is not that great but I like the look and it weighs about 3lbs less than the stocker. That's a lot of weight to pull off your handlebars which can be felt immediately. Turns signals are TST Industries which are direct replacements for the front. At $15 a set I took a chance on fitting them in the rear. Worked out fine. Topped the signals with a TST Industries flasher; again plugs right in. Whole Signal/Flasher deal cost about $50.

Bigger tank? I've had the IMS 3.2 added to the "cart" an several occasions but keep bailing on it. It'll happen. Probably go black and change to white shrouds if you can picture that.

I'd buy your radiator plastics if you go to a new tank.

I have a TST industries flasher relay. paired it with some DRC clear LED signals. the hyper flas went away, but so did the nuetral light from my dash. so i threw the stoc flasher relay back in and the stock front signals back on. I don't mind the hyperflash now that i am used to it but i dont like that my setup is halfassed.

I too am shedding weight as best i can. I really want to weigh this bike to see if I have helped it any. I know the axle sliders have added some weight but i want them on there because I ride so much on the street.

This build has no budget. Followers of it know i've thrown money at this bike like an idiot for a year now, not exactly proud of that. But i am very happy with how the bike has come together

My first TST flasher had an issue. TST sent me a new one before I even boxed up the old one. Next major weight loss items will be a lithium battery (they're getting cheaper) and an aluminum sprocket when I change gearing. I was surprised to see that an aluminum sprocket is at least a pound lighter.

You've got first dibs if I swap the tank and shrouds. That gray stuff is expensive from Suzuki.

    Awesome!

Woo! I think I was quoted $124 BEFORE Graphics for just the right side radiator plastic. I swear I about fell over.

I'll have to contact TST and ask them then! thanks for the heads up.

I'm about to do sprockets and chain on mine. I'm still torn with going back to a 15 tooth front or sticking with the 14 tooth. I will be sticking with the stock 44 tooth count but am going with a SuperSprox Stealth for the rear. Its a two piece hybrid sprocket. Aluminum center with steel teeth. Weight savings with maximum strength and sprocket life. Here is a link: http://www.motosport.com/supersprox-stealth-rear-sprocket

As for a lithium battery, i have the one i want listed in my OP but i wont buy it until i need a battery, or someone i know needs a battery and i give them my stock battery so i can upgrade. i think they are a 3-4lbs weight savings, which is insane for one whole side of the bike ( but i guess it will even out since i went with a lighter exhaust on the other side).

I've been eyeing the supersprox....doesn't hurt that it's gold anodized either. I run 14/44 now which is great for 50/50 riding. I'm gonna try the 47 rear for off off roading. Im justifying the battery for the reason hove eluded to; I lightened the exhaust side sooooo.....

I totally forgot about going up in the rear.... I guess i could go up to a 45 or 47 instead of doing a 14 tooth up front again. I read this thing on thumpertalk about the 14 tooth front sprockets allowing the chain on the DRZ to ride too low annd eventually prematurely wear out the swing arm bushing/bearing (whatever it actually is on this bike). So that may be a better option for me. I certainly love the torque of the 14/44 right now. Its not like this thing needs to see triple digits anyway.

and yes, you may have noticed that i'm in love with all things gold for this bike

i have however, thought about grey yoshimuira engine plugs instead of the Hammerhead Designs ones. I had a set of them and they were just too soft, they got all scarred up during install

I think 15/47 will give you a similar feel to the 14/44. Might need a longer chain though. I think you're fine with 14 up front. I read the same thing about possible swing arm damage; I've also read it's not an issue.:notsure:

Well, I want to do the 39mm FCR Carb and Stage 1 Hot Cams at some point. I think those two items would give the bike enough ass to not need the lower gearing grunt anymore. So my original plan has been to just do that SuperSprox kit 14/44 with DID 520 VX2 Gold 120 link chain, then when i do the carb and cams (hopefully next year), I can just swap back on a 15 tooth front

Makes sense. I see you planned ahead with the MRD too. That's the system to have when you start making the changes you're planning on.
