TST Industries front flushmount clear lens LED signals with harness connectors are on. LED flasher relay is in and works this time. So stoked to have four working turn signals that all flash at the proper rate and are bright as fuck.

The harness connectors are worth every penny.

Pulled the original spark plug and read it. Seems to be a little rich, might be why the bike falls on its face at the top of 4th. Pulled the 160 main and put in the 155, haven't ridden it yet but it feels essentially the same. I'll have to ride it and read the spark plug again to see if it helped.

You can't "read" a old spark plug. The only way to read it anymore is put in a fresh one, go for a rip and immediately look at it.

You don't know about cleaning a spark plug then. I cleaned it about 200 miles ago. Just needed to check it again.

7500 calls for a new spark plug with the valve check anyway, my valves were perfect and i waited to do the spark plug

You can't "clean" a sparkplug to new. And still you can't check it after 200 miles. It literally has to be put it, gone for a rip, and then checked with the fuels put now.

I checked it before the valve check. It was still rich. Played with the mixture screw. That barely helped. Cleaned the spark plug. Did a full pull up the interstate and the coasted most of the way back home only using second gear to lug up a few hills. Checked the spark plug. Still rich. Played with the mixture screw some more and just never checked it again. Pulled it today and noticed my half a turn on the mixture screw had only helped a tiny bit, barely at all. That and it falling on its face before top speed, lead me to believe it is pushing too much fuel at WOT and at the top of the gears it could lead to a burnt piston if i would really ring the bike out for a long distance.

So i swapped in the 155 and left the mixture screw at 2 turns. If its a little bit lean after another pull, i'll put that half turn back in it so that its at 2.5 turns. But now i'm really wishing i had the FCR and someone to tune this thing on a dyno

You're still doing it wrong and not understanding. 1st)You can't change the jetting and look at a used spark plug to see if it made a difference. It has to be a BRAND NEW ONE OUT OF THE BOX after the change in jetting and then ran to see how the plug looks.

2nd). If it's running rich it can't burn a piston. That is by default a result of a lean mixture.

3rd)the mixture screw only affects idle

Reading the plugs on these 4 strokes is alot harder to me than 2 strokes. Theres definitely an art to fine tuning by doing it. Ive had to rejet my bike a few times because i keep modding it and i can get it pretty close just by riding it and seeing how it reacts. I start on the rich side and lean it out from there if needed.

Thats basically what i have done. I can't really add any more air to it, so i'm just going to take fuel from it.

That half turn in either direction has done absolutely nothing to my throttle. Still requires full choke from stone cold no matter the ambient air temp

Because it isn't going to change anything in throttle. It is only an idle adjustment. And even mine needs choke for 30 seconds first start with an fcr. It's the nature of a carb

I think every drz ever always needs the choke for a little bit on a cold start. This discussion just came up on the drz fb page. Great resource there if youre not already on it.

Mine starts fine after its ran a minute. But fresh starts 90% of the time need the choke unless I really crank on it to get started. Don't worry about it. Unless you can get a wide band o2 or get it on a dyno to do a couple runs back to back don't worry about it .

No idea where i could get it tuned...but i'd fork the money over to have the fcr tuned before this stock carb

So hard saving for wheels and tires. I could afford the carb but then i'd have no wheels lol
