    :facepalm:

    Better stick to detailing Brother! LOL Just kidding. I never did any auto electrical work until I got the Taco. When I did the wiring I was at it all day soldering and making it look all professional. I had never done soldering before either. I had a IT guy here tech me one night. Bought a kit, has all the wire heat shrink tubes in various sizes and lengths, bla bla bla.

    Got time for the big moment and POP, blew a 20a fuse. Shit, found another fuse looked at all the wires, checked it all out, POP. FUCK! One light bar was fine the other wasn't. So I started taking shit apart. I started closest to the light and the very first connection I spent the most time on had black electrical tape around loom and then a large heat shrink tube, then, wait, what, exposed wires with heat shrink tube pulled down?! WTF!? Apparently I put the heat shrink tubing on the wires, twisted them, soldered them and then forgot to pull the tubing up over the connections before sliding the single larger piece up over the whole joint, wrapping it in loom and then black electrical tape.

    (I get to use this one finally) :duh::duh::duh::duh:

    Once I separated the hot from the ground no more popping fuses. :frusty:

    :rofl::rofl::rofl:

    And now I get to do it all over again.........:annoyed:

    The harness that came with was about 20ft long so i shortened each portion of it and neatly reconnected. Then it came time to shorten the tiny wires in the switch harness....they did not cooperate. They must have worn through some where because as soon as i hooked it to the battery the switch harness melted and smoked everywhere. Now i need a whole new harness and have to start over from scratch. Chinese wiring is terrible. My ogre hands need everything to be massive so i can manupilate it. The tiny gauge of the switch harness was just too small for me i guess :laugh:

    This is probably my 4th or 5th install and my first time having an issue like this...

    No doubt!

    I am going to looks through my wiring stuffs and see what i can come up with. But I definitely need to get a new harness, and i might do a smaller fuse so the wiring doesn’t fry next time. I could not believe that fuse was a 30. It needed to be a 15 or a 20
