Frame patch work is finally 100% done and painted. Ready for undercoating.

Now its time to degrease the rest of the underbody

Trying to figure out some form of floor mats, only ever had weathertechs...and i’m not putting $500 worth of weathertechs in this thing.

So i tried this mat out of a 5th gen, doesn’t fit for shit

It may behoove you to get a few cans of rust inhibitor and spray it into the frame rails where you can't get with a brush. Water and dirt get in and cause the rails to rot from the inside out.

Por15 is great stuff, but where the frame is boxed and you are unable to get inside of it you should spray the inhibitor in there. Rot doesn't just happen on the out side, it's more likely to start on the inside where dirt, mud, water, and salt accumulate and are held in and can't get cleaned out.

dont really want to cut it, even though it was free. Those 5th gen mats are expensive!

I have the Weathertechs and they’re awesome of course but the Husky mats are a bit cheaper and work well. The horse stall mat is a good idea for the rear cargo space.

Awesome build/thread by the way. My northeast 3rd gen is in need of frame repair top of course.

I priced both mats and a set of huskys is only $6 less than weathertechs

So i’d stick with weathertechs since they come in grey and the huskys dont.

Thanks, if you need help with frame repair, I can talk you through it and send you videos that helped me and/or show you what I did. I’m by no means a welder, but, what I did will hold up for the forseeable future.

That’s pretty funny, I figured the Husky set would have been cheaper by a long shot.

I’m leaving the frame repair to professionals. I have no welding skill sadly so I’ll bring it to be fixed. I need a few years out of the truck while starting my career and then I’ll be happy.

That would be cool. Would love to see how you handled it. I patched my frame in 2 places before the rot got too bad and I got rid of it.
