Hey, did some searching, but got a good lead on a 12k apex badlands winch, new in box, and I was wondering if that would fit in my 2.5 gen arb? did some searching and couldn't find anything specific to the apex, not the normal badlands!

Thanks all! I know 12k is overkill, but it's a gooooood deal.

If this guy did it with the non-APEX model, I don't see why the APEX model wouldn't work. The dimensions are exactly the same except that the APEX is 1/4" wider. Not an issue.

I just got an ARB for my 2.5 and was considering the apex as well. The 9000 would work, but by the time you add the synthetic line and the bluetooth adapter it's the same price as the 12000. I'd love to know if you were able to get this to work.

I had an ARB bumper on my 2003 and it would only fit winches where the control box was separate. I had a Warn 8000I I think it was? Integrated control box and it wouldn't fit.

You can mount the control box on the apex in a separate spot if needed. It comes with the hardware to do so. I have that winch on my second gen and 3rd gen but different bumpers.

Thanks, I believe I can make it work with an offset fairlead and maybe a spacer and by rerouting the control box. Do you know if you can clock the apex? I'm also considering the warn evo 10-s.

I have an Evo 10-S in my ARB Deluxe. No way it was gonna fit with the control box in place - I rerouted to the engine bay, but on top of the bumper would have worked. I imagine most similar sized winches are gonna be the same way. I did have to clock the 10-S, it was simple. There's some details in this thread, starting at this post: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...nch-runs-and-more.712981/page-3#post-26473316

You may want to specifically note the odd 4-pin winch wiring if you're considering in-cab controls at all.

20220322_162620.jpg Thanks guys. I went with the warn 10-s as well and for the most part it was pretty straight fowrard. Not a perfect fit, but it works. Was a fun couple of days between the bumper install and throwing the winch in.
