ARB Air Locker problems

    I plan on pulling all the fittings and redoing. Yes...I have a switch for the compressor. I don't leave it on, but I am testing it to see where my leaks could be. Unfortunately...I'm not finding any with soapy water. Doesn't mean they are not there though.

    I've read that the bolt on the side of the tank can be barely loose and cause this symptom.

    There's one that goes through the tank itself, IIRC that tightens the tank to the part which can be rotated.

    Have you verified that the compressor is actually making pressure when it is running?

    What did you use to seal the threads when installing. I couldn't get shit for a seal with tape, so I used Loctite 545 - it's all sealed now.

    That through bolt squeezes the end caps which seal to the tank with o rings. Def worth a check. Have you called ARB? Their customer service was incredible from my experience. Guy even gave me his cell phone number to send pics.

    My issue was constant running and not pressurizing. ARB thought it was a backed out connecting rod bolt. Upon disassembly with @EDDO, we found the problem. Broken reed valve. Piston rebuild kit sent free of charge, even though I told them I bought it brand new but off the forums instead of a vendor.



    But if yours is cycling so much and still operating locker and filling tires it def sounds like a leak somewhere (like others have said). If you've checked everything else try that clocking through bolt. And call ARB!!

    That is actually what I was going to try next. I started out with the white tape. Then I tried the putty, which was complete crap. Now I'm using the yellow tape (for gases). It appears to be working, but something isn't correct. Not sure why the shop would replace the seals if the fittings were leaking. But again...I'm not seeing that the fittings are leaking.

    yellow tape didn't work for me either. I didn't fuck with the putty and went to the good stuff.

    Yep. Just use enough to seal all the way around. The instructions say to wait x hours before pressurizing the system. I waited something like 3 days because I was so tired of the issue - and I don't have lockers. It would air tires fine, but if I forgot to turn off the switch, the compressor cycled pretty often.

    You shouldn't have any problem finding 545 locally.

    Nothing worked for me. Switched to loctite 545 and snugged all fittings ...zero leaks what so ever

    I will never use Teflon tape again

    I'm diving into the same issue with my new setup. I ended up having to troubleshoot on the first section of Signal Peak near Truckee, CA this weekend...not the best trail to have locker issues.

    My compressor started cycling every minute, then every 30 seconds....then every 5 seconds. I believe my solenoid either needs adjustment or has debris in it.

    I'll try and post some pics with my fix, I have read on many other forums of people having ARB solenoid issues...hopefully mine just needs Adjustment.

    Looks like my issue was from the machining process when the solenoid was made, not too happy to find crap like this in a system that I paid top dollar for....this is why I am willing to pay extra money for a quality product, or so I think. I posted some pics of the solenoid being disassembled for anyone in question on how to adjust and clean them.

    New O rings didn't fix my problem, but I finally found the issue. There is an internal seal on the end of the locker (pic). Apparently their was some debris in the locker from where it was machined. That nicked this seal and it obviously wouldn't hold air. ARB sent a entire new end to replace it. It has worked well for over a year now.

    My ARB locker is having the same problem, compressor cycling intermittently. Noticed last time I went off roading....bummer
