hey jeff thanks for your expertise. I would hate to take my bumper out again. it looks like you have an ARB also. Can you tell me what you did with these flaps? i'm fixing to cut them out.

    A few bolts are different.
Your welcome. Dont cut them! You can tuck them up in the fender and zip tie them to the the frame. Look at the manual!! It shows you exactly how to do this.

I have the old style ARB bumper with 10,000Lb T-Max Winch. I used the Old Man Emu (OME) suspension. Here is OME vs Stock Bilsteins:

Check (Toyota of Dallas, Texas) site www.trdparts4u.com they have ARB bumpers and many different suspension set ups.

I saw it in the manual, it's step #11. At first i thought it was to get it out of the way so you could install your bumper. from this picture it looks like shit, tied up like that. let me tuck it up like that and it should look better with the bumper on there.

Just wanted you to know I have had my ARB for about 4 years and it is the toughest I have seen. I have bumped trees with the ARB while off roading and it is solid. Most of the smaller trees (1"-3" round) tend push away from it and slide across it. The only part that seems to rust quickly is the skid plate part with the holes in it. If I could do it again, I would give that part some extra coats of satin black rustoleum paint. I just removed it and used my grining wheel to remove the rust then I gave it some coats with satin black rustoleum paint. I guess better late than never. It looks good again, it just has mud on it.

Hey guya I found a ARB bumper for a decent price thinking about picking it up for his asking price, maybe not sure yet he wants 700 its 5 hours away.

Brand new all hardware included! I am really wanting it but have some questions.

    1) how much does it sag, I have read 1inch, Im stock height for now should I wait until lift?

    2) any complaints?

    3) how does it handle afterwards? Is it extremely nose heavy now?

Last how much drop in MPG lol

    Thanks!!!!

Op not trying to thread jack yours looks great and is helping me lean towards getting it lol

    1) one inch is about right. i don't have any lifts yet, so i'll be driving it like that for a little bit. haven't decided on what coil/lift to go with yet.

    2) no complaints so far.

    3) don't know yet. haven't driven it yet. still a work in progress. i'll let you know how it handles.

Forgot to ask how hard was it to install on a scale 1-10?

I've seen one of the stock TRD billies snap before, yours looks like it just laid over. Either way, glad I have OME.

    nvm, you got it.

Choose a front bumper that fits your style, but also keep in mind its function. The ARB bumper was not built for lifted trucks with after market tires. From what you've said, it should work fine.

I'll be honest with you man. I don't agree with that for one minute.

Specific tire size and wheel size/offset is where the trouble lies. The current tire/wheel combo on my truck is proof of that, works perfectly. There is just very tight tolerances when fitting oversize tires with after market wheels on any 2nd Gen Tacoma application, lift or not.
