I've had ARB bumpers on my two previous trucks and the one on my '13 certainly saved my bacon in my head on crash (grumbles).

I don't see myself getting the newest one though, simply because you have to cut SO much to make it fit. With my 93, it just bolted on. My 2013 you had to cut the stock bumper cover, which was fine since I purchased a cheap replacement cover and hacked that rather than cutting up my OEM stuff. The 16+ you have to cut the bumper, grille and flares. I'd like to have the ability to return back if need be and that's just too many replacement parts to purchase if need be, especially since the grill surround is painted body color.

I am also not a fan of how far they stick out now. My '13 certainly stuck out a bunch, but it seems like they're even further now. They do look MUCH better painted, but I feel like that defeats the purpose of having them. I always thought the basic black gave it the ability to take some bumps and bruises without looking too banged up. What do I know, though.

I'd love the bumper but it sticks out so freaking far so it's a no bueno for me

I think the weight is about 170 lbs? -meaning a likely suspension mod.

Most definitely, especially if you add a winch.

C4 Fabrication makes a direct bolt on replacement, doesn't stick out too far.. the ARB looks like it's got a fat lip...C4-2016TACO-OVERLANDi.jpg

I'm thinking about buying an ARB for the Land Cruiser 80 series and modify it for the 3rd gen. Hate how far the current arb sticks out so grossly! UGH!!! WHY ARB!!

I ended up with a CBI T3 full hoop. I couldn't be happier.. doesn't stick out like the ARB at all.

Yeah, I may go with a T3, or thinking of a Relentless Fabrication bumper, saw they're doing a few Black Friday sales here https://tacomabumper.com/tacoma-bumper-deals-coupon-codes/. But not sure if I like them either... I feel like there's gotta be that "perfect one" I'm sure I'm just picky about bumpers... lol..

Actually this new brute force fab one looks really good also seen the pics here https://tacomabumper.com/brute-force-fab-coupon-codes/

I still have a few hours before Black Friday starts and ends so let the decision making begin!

I'm sure you'll be happy either way, after I put my CBI on, I found myself breaking my neck at my own truck.. and looking back a bunch of times when I was walking away in the parking lot..

Yes I am and I love it. The install was pretty straightforward, just time consuming. You do have to cut the stock bumper and grille.
