That is a good question, ha. I do remember that I removed the airbox. That gives a ton of extra working space. With that out, you can go under the mount. I think that is what I did.

Some tips on install, make sure you route the seat harness like I did. In fact, study the image of my seat harness you will see I routed the vehicle side of the harness back behind the seat frame and then brought it forward. Reason for this is to make sure you do not pinch the harness at the front when moving the seat. It limits your forward and rear seat movement by a little bit but not bad overall.

Make sure you use thread tape on the brass fittings. The sealant on them does not seal it at all. I scrubbed off the sealant (as best possible) and applied thread tape. There is still a very small amount of air escaping but not enough to make a difference.

Much like Chloe Kuo I ran the wires under the carpet to the side of the vehicle then routed the ARB fuse holders up under the carpet at the bottom of the A pillar on the passenger side. I then routed the power cables over the trans hump under the carpet to the base of the driver's side A pillar and out to the engine bay through the main grommet and attached to the battery. I also used the add a fuse with the mini fuses to tap into ignition and illumination power at the fuse box. I used a couple medium zip ties to secure all the extra wiring to the DDI bracket behind the compressor to keep things tidy. I had to tuck the locker solenoid wiring under the compressor filter under the tunnel side.

Make sure to test everything while the seat is out. If you are worried about the airbag light triggering, then plug the seat back in and test it. I used some soapy water and sprayed the fittings to see if they were sealed.

Putting the seat on top of the seat jackers is a huge PITA as the rear ones move quite a bit when trying to set the seat over the compressor and the bracket. Having 2 people (one in the front seat area and one in the rear) would definitely help.

I ran it long enough to air up 4 tires and put my hand on top of the brackets and cooling fins on each pump and felt the temperature reaching the wiring and seat bracket was negligible.

I looked at the R4T mount but the thought of blocking any radiators seemed a little risky. I tend to off-road in the desert a lot, and airflow for cooling is imperative.

I used the expedition essentials mount and extension cable on the passenger side and was able to leave the outlet in place, but removing the storage cubby. The storage door hides the compressor when not in use.

I ran it to the drivers side following zip-tying to other cables along the back of the bed/tailgate side; I didn't want to cross the prop shaft. I had to extend the extension cable a few feet to connect power to the battery. The extension cable is only long enough to run from a driver sided mount.

The air hose and accessories are behind the back seats.

Does that area stay clean when off roading?

Im surprised it fits back there... any photos by chance? Also, did you mount your compressor back there too or under the hood like most?

My Viair 450p is mounted in the driver's side cubby with an Expedition Essentials mount. Works like a champ.

No tank. For inflating tires, unless you have a giant tank, there's no use for it. Horns or other on demand items would need a tank.

I'll try to snag a pic after work. Compressor is mounted in the engine bay.

I wanted the tank mounted vertically so I can drain the condensation that builds up.

I made a mount for the engine bay for my VIAIR compressor. Easy and didn't take long at all. Beats paying the outrageous price they charge for a mount!!
