Wish I had a machine to do it with! I just bought a small sheet of steel at home depot and used my angle grinder to carve out the design.

Oh it's how I did things at my first fab shop; I'm too cranky to work like a Neanderthal anymore

But yeah angle grinder with the right wheels can get a lot done!

Slee has a 3rd gen front mount. It's a great fit to save a spot for a second battery.

On the bright side, that external fitting looks awesome.

AGEED, cant emphasize this enough too. the top is wide open, and theres a quarter inch wide gap running at the bottom corner of it. this thing does a better job at being a box for collecting rocks, dirt, mud rain, etc etc...didnt think it was too bad of a thing until my wiring for the air compressor prematurely failed because those elements corroded them. not to mention you have cut the OEM storage box which is really expensive, so good luck going back to OEM. the only good thing about it is its aluminum which is light. stay far away from this piece of crap. im finding it pretty difficult to find a good place for the air compressor now. putting it in the engine bay is a PITA, dont want to lift the hood everytime. putting under the seat makes me think inside of the car will get dirty during the time you air up if the weather isnt good, you have to keep the door open. the bedside storage is a good place, but there is just not good design for it. really wish the company would fix their incredibility flawed design.

Got a question do i still need the arb manifold for a rear locker if i can directly install it on the new arb 1 gal tank with 4 ports just making sure im not going to break my rear locker because trying to save some space and buck does rear locker have a maximum PSI pressure it needs thats why everyone that runs lockers use the manifold because it gives lower PSI? I just don't understand the use of manifold instead directly connecting it on the tank just curious thank you for any help

@Tacoben Since they have a preset pressure switch, I have not seen anyone run an inline regulator for the ARB air lockers with an ARB compressor. No manifold is required, but I'm not sure what size NPT ports are on the tank -- the physical mounting/space constraints + fitting sizes of the valves are usually what push folks to a manifold block. I did some googling, and the pressure limitation was due to an older solenoid valve's operating parameters...so it might not be required anymore. The best bet is to call or e-mail ARB.

On my last Tacoma, I ran a high-pressure OBA set-up with a tank (not ARB), and I used an inline regulator to regulate the air to my manifold for my air lockers, which was 90-105psi I believe (used PowerTanks manifold block and sourced a Pisco regulator Part # RVUM 1/4x1/4 line)

No you don't need the manifold, you can run right from the tank. The manifold is because the twin compressor doesn't come with any way to attach multiple outputs/devices. The manifold doesn't reduce or regulate output pressure.

ARB recommends from 85-150 psig to actuate the locker. The twin compressor uses a 150 psig pressure switch while the other compressors use an 100 psig switch. Either switch can be used on any compressor and all compressors are designed to actuate the air lockers.

Awesome thank you all so much just couldn't find that explanation and i wasn't sure just being cautious because the old 1 gal tank only has two 1/4 NPT ports but now the new tank has 4 and yeah the solenoid will be the tricky part have to find a way to get a 1/4 NPT male to either female or male 1/8 BSPT ill be only going for rear lockers so i only need one, one for the compressor, one for airing stuff which ill install a water catcher filter and the last one will be for now a 150psi emergency pressure release valve.

I forget all the places ARB mixes npt and bspt but I was able to adapt stuff together without much trouble. The ARB solenoid manifolds do daisy chain if you want which helps give you more total outputs.

So, I have been looking online and have been unable to locate a under hood mounting location or air compressor mount for my 2017 SR5. Is anyone aware of a company that makes a mount or a location that I can mount a single arb air compressor in my Tacoma? I have watched the videos for the under seat mounting options, but don't really like the idea of making my seat taller so that I can fit a compressor underneath. Also, I'm not sure how easy it would be to inflate the passenger tires from the driver side seating position. Does anyone have this, and has it been difficult getting access to the passenger side? It seams like my only option at this point is to put in in the bed side boxes, but I'm worried about the amount of dust that can get in there. Also, has anyone added the ARB Pressure control system to their air compressor?

Did you purchase and extension cable for the air compressor or did you have enough from the one originally supplied?

So has anyone used the front mounted behind the grill? I just can’t see it being too good for my compressor with all the rocks, dirt and bugs haha. I guess since I don’t have a winch, I can just plug my compressor in its spot as well.
