Hi. I have the arb ckma 12 compressor. Wandering how can I wire it without using a harness. I bought the compressor second hand without the harness and only will be using it for on board air. Any help will be greatly appreciated. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1415978570.999940.jpg

Install a switch in the cab >
Run hot from battery to switch >
Run hot from switch to hot wire of compressor >
    Ground compressor >
Make sure you use a properly rated fuse, you can get the amperage off ARB'swebsite.
    Drink a beer.

What about the pressure switch and relay?

Make sure that the switch can handle the amperage without melting down, I had that problem once. Best to use a relay to handle the high amperage of the compressor.

Is this compressor the one used for the air-lockers? If so, it will take a real long time to air up. Be fore-warned.

It's the next one up from the small one just for lockers. It also is rated to air tires. I have the original arb switch, just trying to figure out a wiring diagram I can make to incorporate the relay and pressure switch.

The compressor has a hot (Red/Wht) and a ground (Blk), there is also a pressure switch on the compressor with 2 wires (Red & Red/Wht). The red and white you can crimp / solder together, the black goes to ground, the solid red goes to the switch which the switch gets its power from the battery.

Make sure to use a fuse, I think it's 30A for your compressor.

I don't mean to derail the thread but you'r post gave me some ideas as I have the same compressor. The quick connect for the hose is run off the compressor itself, could you spit that and have one in the front and rear of the vehicle? I plan on running the compressor in my bed cubby. Also, how well dId the ARB switch fit?

Run separate quick connects on the tank you will use, or run some 1/4" SS tubing to a quick connect and mount one in the front and one in the rear and use a 'tee' fitting.
