has anyone modified their ARB front bumper? i personally do not like the brush guard bars that ARB puts out now i know they serve a purpose. I am simply not a fan of it i am thinking about cutting them off covering the holes and bending up a simple hoop in the center to stop anything i may hit that could possibly come over the hood. Just curious on opinions on doing this if anyone has done this or not. Thanks guys. by the way it is on a 2012 double cab base model superwhite. with 3" of lift on 285/75/16's i have the all pro off road rear bumper.

Are they powder coated? Would u have to grind down to bare steel? Would the finish be affected by the heat applied when u weld on the new hoop?

Yeah I I would have to grind down to bare steel and weld in a a cover over the existing tube holes then do my new hoop out 14ga 1 1/2" steel tubing which I already have and I have a bender. I could prep the steel that I took down to bare metal and use self etching primer and use bed liner on the whole bumper to make it uniform.

You'd be better off selling the ARB and purchasing a bumper that you do like. Since it is so new, it should pull a reasonable amount of money that will give you a nice down payment towards one that has a design you like better.

Not to mention that that ARB bumper cost exactly one metric ton of gold.

The bumper came on the truck when I bought it. It has a nice dent in it from where I smoked a stump with it. So I'm not overly concerned with selling it. I like the rest of te bumper just not the brush guard hoops.
