Keep the front sway bar attached? Dude ifs is shitty enough. It doesent need any more help being useless.

Cvs are actually not absurdly strong, neither is the 7.5" clamshell. But I will enjoy the challenge an make do

That brings up a good point, where is a good place to order CVs from?

Thanks for the education bro :D

However, you only need one front wheel on the ground when you have a locker. That is kind of the engineering philosophical debate of Tacoma front ends...to improve suspension and articulation...keeping both wheels on the ground or to accept the articulation for what it is and install a locker to overcome the inadequacies of the Tacoma IFS.....That's why we are going with lockers...after all, if both front wheels are squarely and evenly planted on the ground lockers are useless.

And absolutely yes, if you can limit the angle of CVs they will remain and CVs are extremely strong, although the clamshell is not (which was not part of the comment).

CVs strength exponentially decreases as the angle of operation increases. This is caused by a reduction in their contact area when pushed to the extremes of their travel. Perhaps you should brush up on your calc I/II classes and calculate the torsional strength of a Tacoma hardened half-shaft and its corresponding cv joint; unless you are not familiar with stress analysis testing....as I am.

They are not weak just because you know a guy with a mullet (sorry mullet headed friends) that broke a CV on the trail doing something he did not mechanically understand and then later gave a campfire dissertation on the weakness of cv joints because they come stock on his girl friends Honda Civic.

With that being said, watch out for axle wind up....it will snap any CV joint given the opportunity with 35" plus tires and perfect traction.

I would laugh back at you, but there is nothing funny about your affliction. ;) Why you mad bro? :D

    Have a good one.

Got mine ordered yesterday! What is the average cost to get a rear locker installed?

$700 - 1000 deepening on a few factors. You can install and wire most of the compressor and switches to save some cash and bring it down a bit. I'm hoping for around $550 to do locker into diff and I'll have already done the rest.

FYI if you take out your own diff the prices will drop a lot, a local shop quoted me about 100 for the rear install. (Just the differential work)

    Quick question....
I received an email on the 14th that my order was completed and shipped, but never received an actual tracking #. I also checked under "my account" on their site and it states the same "shipped" but can't find a tracking number.
Did anyone get or sees their tracking # on their account?

There were a couple emails. One had just a link to FedEx tracking (unhelpful) and another email had the actual tracking number. Look for "Your order (13345) Updated" email.
